The 1-2 recipe for a pleasant bike trip:
1. The right Bike.
2. The wrong number plate.

Re: Kosi Bay, Sodwana & sand
not too shabby for a stand-up citizen........I like the way your mind works.
wee bit dangerous though as you can find yourself minus a bike quickly. I sort off “trial & error” most available “techniques” (I did it for the team and I was very young and irresponsible then) and if you want to cross that “line” probably the best “method” is the right bike with no plate ........or so I’m told. The safest would be the right bike with the right plate mounted facing forward (agterstevoor).....by mistake off course.
However, none will do you any good if you are stopped. At best you can exercise your “non-photogenic right” not to be photographed.
.......but as stated earlier in this thread
ps. an honest and good example of a “lekka” side track......sorry!

Precisely, see my bike in this pic, and I did not get any fines..........

So you have to include my bike in the picture and make my blood pressure shoot up - the bike I haven't seen for a month and that makes me cry/furious every time I hear the word BMW or Bavarian!!!

The BM top box will be replaced by black Trax. I like the way the red turned out...
Is the bike fixed? Of course not, only bearings and paint job, but I can at least ride it this week.

Re: Kosi Bay, Sodwana & sand
My new 450 is definitely a SHE!
Yesterday Pieter and I went to Sambok. He showed me some of the... uhm... higher elevated areas around Mamelodi. It was actually up the friggin mountain in a very steep, narrow track that consists 100% out of lose rocks ranging in size from golf balls to oversized soccer balls! A little Mamelodi Erzberg... but nothing that the bike was not built to do, hey?
I recon about two thirds of the way up, she said - "No more!". It turns out that you can change gears, but when you release the clutch, there is no drive... no traction... no nothing. FORTUNATELY Pieter had a tie down strap in his backpack, so he managed to tow me back to Sambok - a pretty few kilometers. And also a good thing I was going to take the bike in for the 2-hour inspection anyway... so she is in good hands now. Now I just hope they have spares!
Unstoppable se gat man! Drix, perhaps they should let US test the new bikes before they start selling it
