Re: GS Training - Country Trax 24 - 26 July - UPDATE

Is hierdie 'n ander baan? Kan 'n mens met die 1200 daar ry?

As I understand from the correspondence coming from Country Trax, they can only accommodate 10 of us (and maaaaaaaaaaybe 2 extra if Jan finishes the extra rooms in time!). So it seems that there are 7 confirmed, with 3 places remaining. So get those deposits in - the groceries can wait another week

Re: GS Training - Country Trax 24 - 26 July - UPDATE
Looking at the official C Trax website I felt a bit lost searching for the route to oom Jan's Plaas. The last time I visited was in 2002 and I was not sure of the road anymore. After some search I found the coordinates for Country Trax.

Mooi Muddy. I see you are as keen to go as I am!
After "management" has paid over our deposit, and given through all the completed registration forms, they will get back to us with packing lists, directions, etc.
And to get your heart beats up a notch, I took the liberty of linking to some pictures on the web site... (http://www.countrytrax.co.za)
THIS IS GOING TO BE TOO MUCH FUN!!!

Nee man, ons probeer so hard om almal dieselfde standaard te gebruik! Dis S 26° 57.983 E 030° 11.517
DIRECTIONS:
Country Trax is about 42 km outside of Amersfoort in Mpumalanga. The GPS coordinates for Country Trax are: S 26° 57.983 E 030° 11.517
Because some of the tar roads in the area are extremely potholed, we recommend the following route (± 350 km’s in total) from Pretoria.
- Take the R50 towards Delmas – Leandra – Standerton.
- In Standerton, turn right just after the Vaal River High School, following the signs for the R23 and Volksrust, Newcastle, Natal.
- After passing the KFC and Total garage on your left, take the slipway to turn left (into Handel St.) still following the sign indicating R23.
- Stay on the R23 all the way through Standerton.
- From Standerton, stay on the R23 (it leads to Volksrust, but you are going to turn off before Volksrust).
- About 48 km’s from Standerton on the R23, just before the small town of Perdekop, turn left at the 3rd sign indicating “Amersfoort” (this turn is opposite the only “koppie” in the area).
- Turn left again after less than 1 km, towards Amersfoort.
- Follow this road for 29 km’s until you come to the R35 Morgenzon / Amersfoort T-junction.
- Turn right to Amersfoort (just 3 km’s away).
- Take the R35 into Amersfoort, until you reach the T-junction with the N11 (still inside Amersfoort).
- Turn left on the N11 (at this T-junction there is a petrol station on your left).
- Still in town, about 135 meters further, you will see the road sign indicating “Piet Retief” to your right.
- Turn right here towards Piet Retief.
- Just after crossing the bridge, the tar road becomes a good, wide gravel road. Stay on this road for the next
36 km’s.
- After ± 33 km’s, you’ll pass an arched entrance to the farm “Welgelegen” on your left, coming down a long downhill stretch.
- Cross the Klein Vaal River and go over the next rise.
- On your left, you’ll see some farm workers’ houses and directly opposite you must turn right at the small BMW sign (“Turn 1” on the map).
- Just 5 km’s on (watch out for ditches caused by erosion) you’ll see another BIG BMW sign indicating the entrance to Country Trax (“Turn 2” on the map). Turn left towards the farm.
REMEMBER TO FILL UP IN AMERSFOORT!

Drix
Daar is 60 sek in 'n minuut, en 60 minute in 'n graad. Baie eenvoudig
Aangesien dit nou presies 15.34444 uur is moet ek nou begin afskakel.
Sien julle almal 17.5 uur by die klub

Re: GS Training - Country Trax 24 - 26 July - UPDATE
Hi
I'm planning to ride down to Country Trax at about 10h00 on the Thursday, leaving from Pretoria, Lynnwood. I'm flexible re. the departure time. I just want to have a leasurely cruise down there (smell the flowers, etc.) and get there early enough to settle in and start having fun! How does the other people's plans look like? It would be good to ride together with somebody.
Looking forward to it!
