GS Training - Country Trax 24 - 26 July - UPDATE
I must confess - did the mud with the Yamaha and not the 1200...
Speaking of Country Trax... I'm looking to go at some stage. Anyone thinking of joining me?
(Admin - should I put this under Smalls: Wanted - company for Country Trax)

Why someone small...?
I am also looking at doing the Advanced Country Trax - there was one in Feb and think there is only one more this year around August. Anyone (doesn't matter if you're small) thinking of doing it?

I'm long time in the dog box for not organising training for Marius and myself. So yes, we certainly want to join.
Although I think I should do the first course and not the advanced one?
As to the proper place for this topic... What about Share your view: Riders and Rider Techniques?

I can think of many wise crack remarks that are applicable to me but let's get serious and make a reality of this.......a concerted effort (that way we can all laugh at each other although I somehow think I'll be the biggest joker - read laughing stock - in the pack)
I'm in but I think I must also start a "grass roots" level and do the introductory first

Re: GS Training - Country Trax 24 - 26 July - UPDATE
Jip, you can't do Advanced without having done the Intermediate/first one (that includes day 1 as almost the same as Swartkop's 1-day Intro. But very different under Jan's guidance)
It's the kind of course that is great to do with friends - when I did it I think there were about 5 guys who were there again, doing it with buddies this time and as a refresher.
So, long time before August - or whenever the Advanced is - to squeeze in the first one and then join me later? When you do the course you will know whether you want to do Advanced or not - you'll see. It's more than a course, it's actually a trip/experience just listening to Jan and their wider experience - humble but confident as he is.

A date for the course will help me decide With other words I am interested but have to look at dates.
@ Dani You will not be allowed to do the Advanced course without first completing the Intermediate course. The Advanced course is also quite tough and I suggest that you are a good GS rider before attempting this. Otherwise you and your bike might suffer. I have done the intermediate and it is a very valuable course. I have found that even some of our "experienced" does not have the right technique when it comes to basic like braking and turning. Also you forget the basic over a time and start bad habits. Very good to do a refresher every now and then of the Intermediate

Re: GS Training - Country Trax 24 - 26 July - UPDATE
I was planning on attending the intermediary course at Country Trax. I've done the intro one at Zwartkops, but now need to take it a notch up at Amersfoort.
Jamie, you would do well to spend the +/- R600 for the Zwartkops one soon. I'll wait for you, then you and I and Dani & Marius can go down to Mpumalanga!
Who else wants to go? I understand winter is a great time to go there...

Re: GS Training - Country Trax 24 - 26 July - UPDATE
If you are not going to do Country Trax soon, I would say do Zwartkops Intro. I enjoyed it. But otherwise, I think save the money. Jan also does not agree that a 1-day course is effective - you will see how he does recursive exercises. They used to have a separate Intro 1-day and then 2 days Intermediate. They are now combined into 3 days - they just call it 'Weekend Course'. And there is one almost every month:
Country Trax Calendar
Pieter - the Advanced is from Thursday evening 20 Aug (he starts with theory that evening) - Sunday 23 August 2009.

Re: GS Training - Country Trax 24 - 26 July - UPDATE
'I like big bums and I cannot lie...' of so iets...

Re: GS Training - Country Trax 24 - 26 July - UPDATE
Put more one in the list! I'm IN.
I gess Roger will attend this course as well. At list we've been talking about this issue lately.
Other sugestion for the people who wants to do the WEEKEND COURSE first, there will be one at the week before the ADVANCED one. So, if it fit your needs, you can transport your bike for the WEEKEND COURSE, leave the babies there till the next weekend, return and perform the ADVANCED COURSE!
If you have TIME and MONEY avaliable, It would sound a good idea!

Re: GS Training - Country Trax 24 - 26 July - UPDATE
Ok... it seems that we have two different groups (seeing that nobody needs to go to Zwartkops... again ):
Intermediate (Weekend Course):
Marnus en sy varkie
Dani
Marius
MadnohB
Advanced:
Dakardrix
PdeKoker
Bon (?)
Roger (?)
The Intermediate course takes place on the following dates: 15-17 May or 19-21 June or 24-26 July. It looks like R3350 per rider, so start saving now (Unless Jamie wants to trade in the Akrapovic and sponsor us all!!!!)
The first Advanced course at Country Trax is only 21-23 August if I'm not mistaken, so you guys in the A-team have some more time to practice (picking up your bikes)...
Can we have suggestions of who can make it for when?

Nee, jy't die name verkeerd - 'n 'Pig' is 'n 1150 Adventure (as jy 'n pig sien sy ding doen in Jan se geploegte lande sal jy verstaan hehe), 'n 'Mothership' 'n 1200 Adventure.

bloody new phone.......still busy getting my calender fixed.
for sure an oversight...........NO COUNTRY TRAX when WSBK is at Kyalami........not a chance.
before I commit, let me get my "support infrastucture" up and running first.
Provisionally in for June

I've checked with the minister of internal affairs and she's happy to let me go 19 - 21 June.
I think we now have some sort of quorum, so if you can, make your plans for then. I'll try to find out when we should start to book to reserve our places!

Thanks Marnus..
But I'm in.

So check those dates. The more the merrier. Nothing is cast in concrete yet
This makes me think - perhaps Jan du Toit will consider a block booking deal seeing that half the club wants to go?
