F800GS remapping?
Has anyone done a remapping on their 800? That jerkiness on technical off-road is starting to get to me - my hands/fingers are killing me with all the clutch control required and I really want a smoother throttle.

Re: F800GS remapping?
Speak to Lenny at Bavarian, apparently it can be done at your local dealer.

Re: F800GS remapping?
It's what I also heard - wanna hear if anyone has done it, does it work? I don't want to spend thousands on a throttle clutch if it's not necessary (i.e. needed for the 990)

Re: F800GS remapping?
i also read on other forums that you must speak to your local dealer and as far as i know, Bavarian is a local dealer that knows what to do . . .
if it works, please let me know - because my hands/fingers will not be lasting to long :-(
bike going in for its 10 000km service in a week or so time and can then be sorted out - if it works!

I also have another month to go before 10,000k, so also let us know if you decide to do it. Guess it shouldn't take longer than a minute or so?

Re: F800GS remapping?
Ok had it done. The problem is I also took out the cat at the same time - the bike feels much better, just not sure whether the remapping or cat gone had the most effect.
But seems like the jerkiness is gone - still a slight on/off feel from totally closed to the initial opening of the throttle, but thereafter it's a different bike - very happy. Did very small piece of off-road and didn't need to use the clutch in sections where it was needed before - jippie!

Re: F800GS remapping?
Had it done yesterday.. Thanks Drix, it sure feels much better!!! wooohooo!
Also refastened the water hose and they replaced the key chip antenna (that round thing where the key goes in?)
All on warranty. I'm a happy camper.

Re: F800GS remapping?
Jip, saw on Sunday again, the girl can ride. I'm actually afraid to see her after Country Trax, then she's gonna leave a lot of boykies in her dust!
The thing with the remap and new smoothness - the most tricky parts on Sani are around the corners cause as you go higher every stretch is different, so if you can go around the bends smoothly it just gives you more time to pick your line safely.
