F800GS Coolant pipe leak Empty F800GS Coolant pipe leak

Post by GSNieP 9th January 2009, 10:07

I am on a Bavarian R1200R today because my 800GS is in the shop :-(

Got home yesterday afternoon and noticed my engine covered in radiator coolant on the right hand side! The top pipe coming from the radiator almost completely slipped off!
Spoke to the guys at Bavarian and I was not the only one yesterday with the same problem on the bike – keep an eye out for this because if this pipe completely slips off you are in trouble!

Had mine fixed yesterday - I see they only do the top one. I could have sworn the bottom one also leaked, just my imagination? Question

Drix... as far as I could tell, it was only the top one that leaked when we arrived at Klein Kariba? I got the impression that the top hose was juuuuuust a little too short. Hopefully they will repair this without charge to you guys...

Yes they did, tx. Ja, Kariba was only the first time... pulled of twice after that before I took it in for 10,000k service yesterday. The third time was when I thought the bottom one also pulled skew, but could just be all the coolant from the top one - totally emptied the coolant bottle that time.
