Given the Elsabe's upcoming operation this wednesday (11 Feb 09) and the 6 or 7 weeks recovery time, we wont be able to make this ride - would have loved to do this ride - enjoy the ride and safe yourney.

Yep - that thought had crossed my mind. All the best for the weeks ahead.
....however, that said, it is 12 weeks from her op to the trip - maybe her first trip if she is strong enough by then???

Re: Around Lesotho: 9-12 April 2009
I'm planning on doing Lesotho end of April beginning of May. Dates to be finalized.
Route so far is down to Clarens from Centurion, next day go through Golden Gate and in by Monantsa, then from Monantsa I'm waiting for a route a friend did that includes Katse dam and the Kao mines, sleep over 1 night in Lesotho and go out down Sani. Then haul ass around to get home. Looking at 3-4 nights.
Just strugling to convince a friend with his 4x4 to come with. Aprently you shouldn't feel sorry for your car going in at Monantsa. Anybody have pics to help me convice?
This thread is really making me excited.
Been to Lesotho last year September, had nice snow. Was the best ride I've ever done!!

Re: Around Lesotho: 9-12 April 2009
We are still looking for someone to drive the backup vehicle for this trip - so if you know of anyone please let us know.
The following would apply:
1. Vehicle that can tow the trailer and feels like a partly paid for holiday.
2. Club pays R700.00 per day towards your fuel/accommodation/meals for the first 4 days.
3. Extra days (in this case 1 day) to be covered by the riders on the trip at R70.00 per day per bike (not per person) - so in effect you get R700.00 per day for the 5 days.

Great - have done.
Tally remains the same as there were 4 cancellations - but others made up the numbers.

I have already asked the ride lead to give me a head start at every departure so there should be no "inconvenience" to the group

Re: Around Lesotho: 9-12 April 2009
I will be passing you most probably on day 2 from the opposite direction. I will be on a 2 week solo trip starting in Pretoria, Cape town and then following the coast up to KZN after stopping over for KKNK. I will be leaving Coffee bay in Transkei on the morning that you leave Nottingham Road. I will compare notes with Dave and try to join you for lunch. I will join the GS trip for the ride up Sani on there day 2 as well.
Drive safe and enjoy

I had a family trip planned for Easter.
Now the family has b*gg*red off to Canada instead and so I'm joining late...if I find an unoccupied bed to sleep in!
(Just letting you guys know)

Still wanted to put the trip on MapSource but no time….and then Dave sent the data, all neatly done. Thanks Dave.
Must say I’m impressed with the organization. (Not just a pretty face)
I’m really looking forward to this trip
See you on Thursday

Re: Around Lesotho: 9-12 April 2009
nou ja toe……….is tyd
Unbelievable how quickly times goes by…….and now time has come (almost). Seems like yesterday when this trip was still several months away.
soos hulle sê – as ons die lewe hou, ry ons môre …….of anders gestel……….as ons dood is, gaan ons nie ry nie
Officially (business wise) I’m out of here.
To all club members, non-members, lurkers……ag somma all bikerfriends…….
Enjoy your Easter and ride safe (if you ride)
