Re: Clarens/Fouriesburg 5 December - 7 December 2008
Now this sounds like a good idea. Those more adventurous could also tackle the Khoro-ea-Moteng pass on the way to Oxbow. I am told that the route there crosses some big sky country with some awesome twisties and it is tar all the way.
Just make sure you pack your passport because you could be punished by having to make a forced ride to Bethulie and back

Re: Clarens/Fouriesburg 5 December - 7 December 2008
There is a nice camping site just out of town called Meiringskloof.
Meiringskloof itself consists of self-catering sandstone chalets @ R240 and caravan/camping facilities located in a beautiful kloof surrounded by sandstone cliffs with open caves, thick indigenous bush and abundant bird life.
Camping is R70 per night (1vehicle included - maximum 6 persons per site) plus R15 per adult, R10 per child(4-16) and R30 per extra vehicle per night. Each site has a power point and a braai area.

All good and well - have you booked your accommodation yet, same applies to all wanting to do the route. What must be kept in mind here is that it is the beginning of the prime high season iro the school holidays. LeRoy

Re: Clarens/Fouriesburg 5 December - 7 December 2008
That is something i still cannot understand - we always plan our trips and leave well in advance - at least one has something to look forward to. A good friend once said that even though they are already on pension, and have been for quite a number of years, they still plan 3 trips in advance.
So when you are leaving on the current trip you already have another 2 trips lined up. It gives you something to look forward to. Maybe if more people applied this principle our clubtrips will be booked earlier, allowing the organisers more time to organise it better. Just a thought. Regards and safe riding. LeRoy

As long as we don't have to slow down too much for you.
...but then you can always catch up when we stop for breaks.
