F650 GS Fuel Problem... I think
I had a breakdown on the highway today. 2003 F650GS. The bike just cut out as I was driving. Pulled to the side of the road and inspected that everything was in place. But when i switched the ignition on and switch off the bike cut out switch, a light on my console is suppose to come on and then disappear. and you're suppose to hear almost like a faint hissing noise. think it gets the fuel pressure up and then you can crank the engine. But there is no noise and the light on the console doesn't come on. Does the F650GS have something like a priming pump or is it the fuel pump that is faulty. The bike is at Auto Alpina at the moment. Can only check it in two weeks time. (They say that the GS Challange takes up all their time) I'm wondering just for interest sake what the problem could be. Any help would be appreciated.
GSRider- I have to post more . . .

i think your problem might be electrical, although the 650 does not consist over very complicated electrical system, something small might cause you your trouble, something like a fuse or so one. a faulty fuel pump will give you trouble with starting and surging. a faulty fuel pump will also show signs over a time, like a humming sound. an engine cutting out, is electrical.

Ive got no major knowledge on the 650, but if they have the same design in mind as the 1150 GS, look at the relay that connects to the fuel pump.
