More GPS Training: 1 August
Invitation from David de Bruyn, Club Central:
"More GPS training is scheduled for Saturday 1st August – from 9h00 to 14h00.
Peter Short will again be the host at The Morningside Club.
This will be following on from the April training session and will be covering new topics. The members that attended the previous session will therefore be able to learn from there – if you have not been at the session – please note that topics like “what is a waypoint” have already been covered – so if you don’t have such a base knowledge – you will be lost!
The session will start at 9h00 but please arrive early (from 8h00) in order to setup and settle down.
RSVP ASAP via email to David david.debruyn@za.didata.com to ensure your place.
The session will be limited to 50 people – so 1st come 1st serve.
A reminder that you will need:
Yourself and your brain in learning mode
Your GPS
Please note that we will be focusing on Garmin only. If you don’t have one – you are still welcome to attend to learn.
Your laptop/computer with MapSource loaded – ver. 6.13.4 or higher.
If you don’t have a current version – please ensure you download from the Garmin website
Your 3G card if you own one - Just in case you need to connect to the Internet.
You also need to have one of the Garmap products loaded.
The latest is Garmap™ Africa Series 2009 – if you own a previous version – see their website for upgrade options.
Power extension – as you will need to keep your computer running.
We have booked the venue till 14h00 – so you will have a lot of good time to learn and practice!"

Re: More GPS Training: 1 August
I attended the last GPS Training session with Club Central.
It was very informative.
Peter Short is the GPS guru !
Definitely worthwhile.
Thanks Club Central for the invite again.
