interesting forum ethics though.Once a press release is issued, it’s public property. To repeat someone else’s article verbatim under a different name without acknowledging the source, is a big no. Unless you are the original journalist?wingman wrote:Regis Laconi was operated on this morning at Sunninghill Hospital in Sandton (Johannesburg) by Dr. Maurizio Zorio and his team...........................
You are also more than 36hours late with the news.
I bow to your superior knowledge.
Copy and paste looked much easier (I wont tell if you don't)
Did I say Welcome to the Forum?

Welcome! Thanks for your first post.
Be sure to introduce yourself in the "Tell us who you are" thread?

*Sigh* Wingman, why didn't you give credit to the source? Please play nice, go edit your post and acknowledge the source/author. Perhaps I'm just gifted, but I knew you didn't write that, because it would have meant that you actually spoke with the doctor and witnessed the operation, which I seriously doubt. It's not only good manners, but if I wanted to read more, how would I know where to go? Like they say... give credit, where credit is due. But thank you nonetheless for the update. Without Jamie around, we seldom get that kind of news lately
BMWFanatic, welcome to the forum. I trust that you will come to realise that we are actually a friendly bunch of people. So no need to lurk in the closet. Get out and start contributing. Afterall, we all love BMW just as much as your name implies. So what type of bike has got you so fanatical?

Would love to edit the post, but I can't recall which website I found the info on.... just thought it would be interesting info to put in for those who were possibly wondering. Anyhow - lesson learnt. About that 'credit' thing, I'll try using that line with my bank manager!

Ok Mr. Roboto or is that Mr. Morgan
I'm sorry if my suggestion came across as a wrap on Wingman's knuckles. Not intended to, because I'm sure they are still bleeding And Wingman, that line doesn't work with the bank - got the t-shirt!
Ok... so back to Superbikes...
When is the next race and how much money on BMW getting places

Re: WSBK weekend 15 - 17 May 09
nice try!
Salt Lake City - 31 May
Will have to try the 'credit talk' before I can put money on... But fingers crossed for better luck!
btw.. glad to read that Laconi's operation was a success!
Here's more old news from the WorldSBK website -
Ruben Xaus's take on Kyalami day:
"There's not much to say when you've done only three laps in the two races, and I am disappointed for myself and the whole team because we had the potential to get good results today. I am a bit angry because I know I did a good job this weekend and it's not good getting nothing back. In race 1 I think I was nudged off by Smrz and I've got a funny feeling he was also involved in the race 2 crash as well. In that race I was just going into the last turn and suddenly my bike shot out from under me. I am not sure exactly what happened but it was crash number two and a big shame because the bike is improving and I'm sure I could've got a couple of top ten finishes."
