Dullstroom S Report
As ek reg getel het was ons 14 fietse en het soontoe en terug net oor die 600km gery. Net een passasier en drie vroueryers! Die pad was meestal goed en soms moes ons G om deur die slaggate te kom. Eweneens lekker.
Die brunch by Dunkeld was uit die boonste rakke en ons kan maar weer teruggaan soontoe. Wat 'n mooi plek!
LeRoy. Geluk en baie dankie vir hierdie rit wat jy op kort kennisgewing organiseer het. Uitstekend soos altyd.

Re: Dullstroom S Report
Ons was 14 Fietse en 22 mense. Nadat die GS'ers by ons aangesluit het, was on 29 mense. The route we followed is very scenic and very beatiful to ride through. The road surface is not so nice in certain places, with the many potholes being very obvious from afar. So one could in time do the necessary to miss the potholes.
What started out as a nice sunny, cloudfree ride ended as a completely overcast cold day. We left Pretoria at 08:00 and arived at the venue at 11:20, including the "P & P" stop we did in Groblersdal. The GS'rs joined us at 11:50. Must admit it was nice having both groups together at the same venue. One could then spend time with friends you normally dont see at these rides.
Management at the venue laid out a special spread for the club, with the emphasis on the "Mothers", it being a Mothersday Brunch. The Mothers only payed R50, with the full price being R85. Each Mother also received a complementary glass of Champagne - with Johan insisting that he actually had some surgery done in this regard - 6 Champagnes later???.
After the cold on the bikes (9 degrees), especially over the last 100 odd kms as we started climbing towards Stoffberg and Belfast, the logg fires at Dunkeld Country Estate, in the restaurant was a welcome respite. The road into and the parking at the resort is bike friendly.
I tend to agree with Johan - the venue is extremely well suited towards this type of mass club ride, with management willing to accommodate our wants and needs - as they so aptly illustrated with this ride. The buffet was set up especially for the club and the service was really excellent - well done to Solette, Lisa and the rest of the personnel at Dunkeld. It is off the beaten track and we dont have to spend our peace and quite with the noisy HD and superbike crowd in central Dullstroom.
Am busy downloading the photos to Flickr before posting it during the evening. To the other members who took photos at the venue (Dani) i presume you will also upload them here.

Jamie - you are not a traditional SB rider - at heart you're a Beemer - time to accept it - we missed you and your mini-club (being the whole family)

I was referring to your noise remark.
You got the Beemer part right but seeing we are a lot of “draadsitters” around here, I can surely be "allowed" to love SB’s as well in fact with the exception of HD and Zongshen (sp), I like pretty much like everything on two wheels....just some more than others
wait, let’s make it more interesting………soon, very soon BMW will have their own Superbike………o don$er, wat gaan jy dan sê

Re: Dullstroom S Report
Moet jy altyd alles so letterlik opneem. Ek dink jou bikes, beide K en Blade, klink fantasties - dit gaan om die persoon wat dit ry en hoe hy/sy hom/haarself gedra.
What will i say then - enjoy, and hope it creams the rest of the field, and whoever rides it - ride safe.

Re: Dullstroom S Report
The trip was wonderful. LeRoy thanx for a beautiful scenic route, though at stages we were enjoying the scene of potholes rushing pass our sides, while looking out for the next ones ahead.
Pity I left my camera at home. Cursed myself when we were chatting before departing at 08:00. I definitely cursed in silence the last 30 km before Grobblersdal for forgetting my Airhawk in my rush to get to the depart point that Sunday morning.
The company of the day was a shear pleasure to be with. This is one of the reasons I like travelling with the club on trips. Thanx to all for making it a pleasant trip for everyone else.
