Hi Louis
don't want to sidetrack here but I'm interested.........
According to Eric from Bavarian there won't be any new LT's coming to SA. Infact, I was led to believe they have stop production on the LT altogether. Are you referring to a new bike?

Re: BMW Biker Gathering: 29 - 31 May 2009 (ABBG)
Hi MadnohB
I discovered the LT in Germany during one of my bus. visits in 2008. Purchased it from a collector and imported to Mid East where I am based.
First registration of LT 2006, although fitted with all BMW extras (+/- R40ths) and only 2000km on the clock(Two thousand) when I purchased it. I have kept this bike in Mid East (Air conitioned parking, inside my house) for more then 1 x year and total km today 2300km. This is not a country for biking - drivers completely crazy, sand strorms, etc.
Yes - LT as we know is now very scares, even in Germany where the prize has esculated of all LT's.
Regards

ABG05. My birthday is also on the 5th!!
This is scary stuff, Deon.
If there are enough Club members attending, are we going to meet somewhere and ride together again ? I should be fully recovered by then, but it is much nicer to ride in a group of friends.

Re: BMW Biker Gathering: 29 - 31 May 2009 (ABBG)
Louis - Recovery time - Elsabe had a stomach operation - tumour removed. Well on the way to recovery. Will be attending the ABBG this time - have been threatening to do so since 2004.
Seems that our LT's have now become collectors items as production has been stopped. Pity - cant see how they can improve on it - still one of the nicest bikes i have ever had the pleasure to own and do in excess of 80 000kms by now.

Re: BMW Biker Gathering: 29 - 31 May 2009 (ABBG)
We (LeRoy & Elsabe & Andre and ????) will only be able get away after 13:00 on Friday - 450km ride. So i presume we will only be getting in somewhat later. Will somebody be organising the group going through earlier - Jamie????.
Should anybody else be going through late as we are - you are welcome to join us. We will meet up with Andre at the Mobil??? just before the toll-gate at Villiers, at roughly 14:00. It will be a faster ride as we will try and get there before it is completely dark.
