I know they're cops and they're on Harleys, but look for yourself...

That is awesome. That is a big heavy bike and he is throwing it around like a small scrambler. WOW

Riding a heavy bike myself - i must admit this is seriously impressive. I would like to see a superbike try and emmulate this on the same course.

I don't think those bikes CAN fall over. If you look veeeeeery closely, you'll see the training wheels at the bottom

Also very impressive but I would like to know if it can be done without the wheelie bar in the tail that prevents the bike from flipping. I still think the Cops are better. No aids, just sheer skillRichard H wrote:Oh that's easy - they'd just do it on one wheel...!

Missing the point here Richard - two wheels. If you listen closely you can hear them scraping the exhaust/crashbars on the tar.

Looks like getting through that maze took more skill reading the GPS, but still take skill.

Re: Now these cops on HD's can REALLY ride a motorsickle...!
If you do a search on youtube for motorcycle police competitions you will see many more of these vids. There is also one of Japanese cops on VFR800's now what they do with their bikes puts those Harley guys to shame!
When asked what is the most important skill to learn on a motorcycle, Valentino Rossi said, slow speed, controlled riding. That from a 8 times world champ. Enough said

True - given the congested traffic we nowadays have to contest with on a daily basis - slow speed skills and maneuvering skills is of the utmost importance.

Agree. It's much easier to open the throttle.
Must be great to live in a country where the police have time to do tricks like that.

It's EASIER on one wheel.
I heard the scraping pipes too.
I have seen Youtube shots of riders on superbike-type machines that do AMAZING things on one wheel...One actually "waltzes" his machine like Fred Astaire.
(can't find the reference, but I'll keep looking.

Ever seen a rider turn his bike 180degrees from standstill in 3m?

(They even stop with front wheel on the finish line.)

how’s that 540degree turn around a beacon…?
(Note, these are all ridden without changing gears...!)

Re: Now these cops on HD's can REALLY ride a motorsickle...!
I tend to agree. Controlling a bike at very low speeds takes skill. Those who did training at Swartkops will remember the slow race and how difficult it is to come lastLeRoy Olivier wrote:True - given the congested traffic we nowadays have to contest with on a daily basis - slow speed skills and maneuvering skills is of the utmost importance.
