BMW F650 cs scarver oil leak Empty BMW F650 cs scarver oil leak

Post by paulnel 7th November 2008, 19:30

i own a 2002 F650 cs single spark. i did an oil change, and discovered oil drippings on the floor. after closer inspection i noticed oil dripping out of the frame from a little hole underneath the left foot peg. this hole looks like a breather hole, and its not supposed to be blocked off by a screw because it is not threaded. the position of this hole is facing to the ground, and its rather strange for a hole in the frame when the oil is stored in the frame. bmw motorrad haven't seen anything like this, and they don't know what the use is of that hole, and why there is oil leaking from it. their diagnosis is that i spilled oil onto the frame when i filled it up. 1st of all i did not spill, and second of all the frame is spot less clean. i know this is a rather uncommon bike, hope there is somebody that could help me.

Have you discussed this with Lenny at Bavaria - if not suggest you do. I have always found Lenny to be most helpfull and will always find the cause of the problem and sort it out.
