RALLYE RAID 2010 (WARTRAIL) BARKLY EAST
Came back on Tuesday from the Rallye Raid 2010 that was held close to Barkly East (or is it Barkley East?) in the Eastern Cape.
Was quite an experience mixing with all the other brand bikers (KTM, Honda, Yamaha and a few BM's).
Three grades of routes were planned for each day - RR1 for the pro's and the "plastic" bikes, RR2 for the more experienced and then RR3 for the rest of us venturing of the tar on occasion.
Well planned and executed. A few accidents occurred, which probably in most cases were riders riding out of there comfort zone.
If you are looking for back-roads, mostly good dirt, Barkley East and surrounds are fabulous.
Pity that BMW Marketing did not partake in the event. Was a bit of a let-down, but they possibly have their reasons for not doing such (the few BMW riders however took a lot of hammering on their behalf!).

Hahaha Pikkie - you were brave! Yes, the RR is now open to all makes but it used to be an exclusive KTM affair. I'm sure that the KTM'ers have not yet had time to get used to this idea.
Next year hopefully some more of us will join - strength in numbers
So where are the pictures????
