Jo'burg Metro police stopped me today...
Had to go to City Power in Braamfontein and after leaving there and turning onto the highway to go back to Marlboro was pulled over by 4 Metro Policemen - bike division. Their bikes were parked on the painted island.
I was on the S1000RR which is still not registered (waiting for docs), has no licence disc and another bikes number plate that belongs to one of the dealers bikes. This was on when I collected the bike last week.
So, I had to bat clever now when I was pulled over.
The first cop walks up to me 'do you work for BMW?' - no I answer.
When did you get this bike? - last Wednesday.
By this time all four of them are standing around the bike - I explain how awesome it is - running in max 7000 revs for first 300km = 156km/h
and then 9000 revs from 300km to 1000km - in sixth gear at 9000 revs - 200km/h.
The one cop tells me some of the Metro's have been invited to Kyalami to test the bikes on Friday (hope that Metro are not going to get these!! ).
After a few minutes, say goodbye, hop on and race off quickly changing with the quickshifter for their amusement.
They did not even look at the licence disc holder which was facing them all the time!!

Quick thinking - reckon you gasped their flabber with the bike. Had i been a cop is suppose i would have been. They probably saw the license holder and assumed that the license was in place. How they missed your number plate????

Hmmm... I always wonder how many of the Metro & Police's registrations are up to date.
Good they didn't see the disk - otherwise you would have been handing out bribe rides!!!

On the way to Bavarian East this afternoon saw three of the Tshwane Metro bikers blocking a biker against the barriers with a fourth waiting further ahead.
Maybe he tried to run away from them.
