And there was mud! (Rayton report)
Thanks to everyone for a great ride yesterday:
Etienne for showing the way and all the promises of "The road will get better!"
Drix for being the sweep in somewhat muddy circumstances - It can only get better!
and of course to all the other strong helping hands and good company.
With 26 bikes on the GS ride, we saw quite a variety of bikes and a lot of new faces too!
Pictures to follow...

Re: And there was mud! (Rayton report)
In this case I think "The road will get better" could be replaced with "The road will get wetter!!" Unfortunately it was Mud 1 Varkie 0. Those French tyres were quite a handful in the conditions.
Thanks for a good ride Sharkie. As I said yesterday these "easy GS rides" are getting a bit boring now
I would like to join Sharkie on a not so easy GS ride

Re: And there was mud! (Rayton report)
What are you two moaning about????
I had great fun, only one seat clenching moment, but saved it just in time. But I must say a 140kg bike with a TKC fitted to the rear does help a bit......
Thanks to all who joined this last ride of the year, we started 2009 in the mud to Rooiberg, en ended in the mud to Rayton. It was a brilliant ride with some seriaaaaaaas mud. Well done to everyone on the Boxers, you guys did awesome, not sure if I would like to take one of those through the track we did yesterday.
26 Bikes, whoo whoo !!! NICE, including BMW's, a Husky 610 (this is one cool bike), a Suzuki DR650 and a Honda XR650.
The BMW's included pretty much all the models:
1200GSA
1200GS
1150GSA
1150GS
800GS
650 Dakar
650GS
G650X-Challenge
G450X
Almost a full house.....

Heyy who's complaining!? A challenge is as good as a holiday!!KnopKop wrote:What are you two moaning about???? ...
I have only a few cell phone pics.. and none of them really give the full picture,
but it's better than nothing!
Sharing the pleasure and wondering what's to come..
Somewhere (on one of the few dry patches) along the railroad track..
Lunch in Rayton - quite a good half chicken - a place to recommend!
The last stop at Sambok.. All is well that ends well!

Re: And there was mud! (Rayton report)
Dear GSlady, I agree with you...or drive or Pic's....or Pic and spilling
Due the fact that we haven’t had time to take some Pic’s (you know, working hard….rs) I have just few of them:
Briefing at BP Garage
1st stop
2nd stop
…the game began……
One of a lot…..
…and then…..THE MUD!!!!!
After had had a hard work…..we had easy and comfortable ride…
In fact, I'd like to have taken some pic's at 18:00h, at sambock bar, when some braves, after "severals" Captains, decided to do the Skills technical track .....
It is unbelievable what we can do !!!!!!!!

Re: And there was mud! (Rayton report)
Shucks!!! I missed another good one * sigh * I even oiled the chain the day before in the hope that I would find some family to help baby-sit. But alas!
Congratulations and very well done to all you brave people. Of all the things (sand, rocks, steep inclines, drop-offs and mud), I like mud the least... and drop-offs, and... no just kidding!
Nice to see the Beemers being used what they were built for!

Re: And there was mud! (Rayton report)
Thanks Sharkie and Drix! The perfect ride to end the club year. Had lots of fun! I also took a couple of cellphone pictures and will post them as soon as I figure out how to explore my phone’s folders (new phone) from my PC via blueteeths Eish, technolooogy.
Anyway...great day, great ride, great bikes, great bunch of people, great club! Can life get any better?
