For those of us who do not have the latest spec bikes, I came across this useful tool to monitor your Tyre Pressure while riding !

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitors
Your bikes don't have the factory-fitted sensors? I know they are usually about 0.3 bar out, but working fine for me.

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitors
My bike is a 2007 1200GS - these did not come out with on board computer or tyre pressure sensors.
I have ordered this TYRE DOG tyre pressure sensor set.
Will let you know my findings.

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitors
Funny that you should mention that Drix... Went riding along the back roads from home to Sambok bar last weekend. About 3km on the way back the rear wheel went flat as a pancake. I inflated it with tyre weld, but that did nothing more than give me another 500m or so before it went flat again. I waited in the shade of a tree for my riding partner to go fetch his bakkie to get the 450 home.
That afternoon I decided to give it a try with the tyre levers and a spare extra-heavy-duty tube I bought some time ago. Got the tyre off, put the new tube in (goodness me - what a mission without a valve puller!) and got the tyre back on. It was quite a struggle until I realized I should use the flat ends of the tyre levers and not the curved ends! Took it to the petrol station on the back of the bakkie to inflate, only to realize that it was still leaking air.
I promptly dropped it off at Bavarian on Monday morning for some professional intervention. It turned out that I likely pinched the new tube when I did my monkey thing with the wrong ends of the tyre levers.
Moral of the story? No tyre pressure sensors would have benefited me in any way whatsoever. And... there is no teacher like failure
