“TIN” RUN - Boksburg: 28 November

Bikers from all round are gearing up for the “TIN” run, everyone will be emptying kitchen cupboards at home or storm into the grocery stores and stock up to the teeth with non perishable items such as canned food, pasta, soups, desserts, sauces, dried foods etc. Arm yourself to the teeth and your bike to the tail with tins.

Enjoy the ride to Boksburg Stadium at a leisurely pace grinning widely while being snapped by the photographers not to talk about the adoration of the media and public. Once there chuck your tins into the donation boxes and hang around, live entertainment, food stalls as well as beer garden and loads of arts & craft stalls & stalls with biker paraphernalia. Be sure to be around for the prize giving starting at 14:00

Your generous contribution to this event will ensure all pensioners have a food parcel delivered to them in the months to come.

Ok - and how does this fit in with the annual Toy Run - seems to be very much in the same time frame

This years' Toy Run will be on 29 November. I believe there will be no mass-ride from Pretoria this year and that Pretoria bikers will be asked to join the Limpopo Toy Run to Warmbaths (Bela Bela) to facilitate the traffic arrangements.

I went on the Toy Run to Warmbaths, the year before last. It was very quiet there (probably because it was new). I hope this year will be a lot more buzzzz.

Discrimination - surely the traffic guys can get there act together this year and not get lost again.

Since when is Warmbaths closer than Jhb?

I was part of the organising two years ago, it was the 25th anniversary and the idea was to have 25 venues. The attendance was around 900 bikes. This year it is arranged by local (Warmbaths) bikers and the feed back is that they advertise widely throughout Limpopo and expect a good turnout.

I believe it will be advertised for Pretoria bikers to join the Warmbaths Toy Run. It is already arranged for the Toll Gates to be 'open' for the mass ride and the reason being that it will be a 'safer' ride than the JHB mass ride, as a result of the construction work on the highways.

When you put it like that then it makes sense...

Debatable - will decide closer to the time

As a club, perhaps any arrangements to join-up for the ride? What is the general view, JHB or Warmbaths?
I think that Warmbaths will be a more pleasant ride

The TIN RUN is not the same as the TOY RUN.

This run is organised by the Presbyterian Church of Boksburg together with St Johns to collect food for pensioners and the old age.

Bikers are welcome from 10:00 at the venue in Boksburg on Saturday.
Lots of stalls, beer tent and entertainment with a mass ride through Boksburg at 15:00.

There is a ride from Bikers church in Midrand to the JHB venue.
