Just a question for the 'Xperts: If I go through water and the water goes over my helmet and my tank bag and my tank and my jacket is wet, would that be that I went through it too quickly?
Either that or it was raining!! (...and I am not an expert)
Too slow! You must splash higher and be through before it comes down again..
But I don't know either - Jamie is the precision expert?

Now, now - fall I did not but wet I got... guess I went in too fast! Next time slower and then if I fall over I'll know it's better to do it quicker! The proverbial bullsh*t baffels brains!

There is this old saying: "As fast as necessary, as slow as possible". And the only way to figure out what that means is to do it, and do it again. The danger of such a splash is that the dirty water could obscure your vision (and even more if your visor was open). Going too slow has disadvantages on the more slippery entrance & exit points.
Are you joining us on Country Trax in July???

Very nice one guys and gal!!!
Looks like you had a great ride. Those Pretoria East roads is a good place to get into dirt-road riding!
Well done to all. Hope to see you on one of the club's GS rides soon.

Oh my goodness - a smurf account!!! Aaaaaaaaaadmin!!!
No reason to be anonymous, unless the BTR movement is something like the AA (and I'm not referring to the Automobile Association)

Thanks Dave!
Thanks for the ride Dave! Enjoyed it and it was good to meet some more people, including Wahl the famous, with his brilliant sense of humour (that avatar is great Wahl).

I'm no expert, but an experienced GS rider told me he really regretted going too fast through water and getting water into the air intakes...
