Re: Road Ride to Cullinan
We will be visiting Cullinan this week-end (Sunday) on a Recce for breakfast. There are two possible options - one going South (122km) and one going North (124km).
Cullinan is so close to Pretoria that it looks like we will go there in a group on 7 December and then everybody can come back when they want to.
If anybody has any advice at all, I am all ears!

ROAD RULES
- See http://www.bmwclubs.co.za/articles/groupriding.html for a more complete list
1. Keep a staggered formation
2. NEVER pass on the left
3. You are responsible for the rider behind you - especially the second-to-last rider who needs to watch out for the sweep
4. Keep your eyes on the road and do not try and follow the person in front of you - ride your own ride
5. Second rider stops at the next turn to show the other riders where to turn. When the Sweep arrives, the rider can once again join the rst of the group. Make sure if you are just in front of the sweep, you take responsibility for the Sweep.
WEATHER
The weather for Sunday 7 December:
Temp: 15 - 31 degress
Wind speed: 3 km/hr
Chance of rain: 10%
SWEEP
Is anybody interested in being a Sweep for the day?

DEPARTURE
Atterbury Shell (normal departure place)
07:30 for 08:00 am
ROUTE
This route is based on the 2007 Cullinan trip. Bronkhorstspruit was however ruled out this time around due to the numerous pot-holes on this road.
There are no exciting twisties, but it is a relaxing ride. There are a few potholes so we should take the necessary precautions:
- Riding behind cars should be limited to the absolute minimum (due to the fact that you will not be able to see the odd pothole in time)
- The Staggered formation needs to be kept at all times for the same reason.
DESTINATION
Burn's Restaurant and Jac's Sport Bar
The costs will be R60 per person and this includes some fruit, yogurt and filter coffee as well as porridge, mince, worsies and juice.
WEATHER
This changes quite a bit as the front is moving past.
The latest weather report (thanks to the link Dani put on our web site) is as follows:
Low = 16 degrees
High = 29 degrees
Rain = 10% chance
Wind = 6 km/hr
If you want to go on the additional trip (see below) or walk around the small town, please take a hat. UV = 10+ (Extreme)
SUGGESTION
For those interested: After breakfast there will be a tour of the town by Bedford or Tram. The cost for this will be R30 and will last 45 minutes. Booking is essential so please let me know who is interested.
Trem
Bedford
INCLUDED
