... as a matter of fact, there is a cache at a stunning view point about 4km from Sani Top, really worth the ride on the perfect road for a GS!

Wind Dance cache S 29° 33.918 E 029° 19.250

Ok, enough of the hijacking, I won't tell you about the lovely caches on the rest of the route, such as Normandien Pass, and... Cool

(if anyone wants a gpx file with all the caches in the area we are covering - 500 caches with Memel as center point - e-mail me drix at drix.co.za - you just copy it to garmin/gpx folder on Garmin GPS or open in Mapsource and send to GPS)

SANI over EASTER - Page 3 Empty a hick-up

Post by GSlady 8th April 2009, 21:53

Herewith bad news and good news.
Our leader Sharkie, had an accident this afternoon.
He's fine.-- still at x-rays to see how serious the collarbone and foot injury are.

I don't think he'll be able to do the trip on his bike - but he WILL go with in the back-up vehicle.

Typical accident scenario: A motorcar made a U-turn.
The driver stopped immediately and was very sorry and very helpful - even called him just as we approached the hospital.

Sharkie was fit enough to ride further to meet his appointment with Brian (back-up) at Colin's place where the trailer was handed over.
I was there to deliver jerry cans (for possible fuel crisis). Swelling to his foot and pain in his shoulder prevented him to go home and I took him to hospital.

Will keep you posted.

The verdict: Broken collarbone. Unfortunately not a clean break.
- otherwise sprained ankle and bruises.

Will know more after he's seen the orthopaedist tomorrow.

Sterkte Sharkie!!!

ai jai jai jai jai... nou ja - life is what happens when you make other plans!

I thought that looked like a pain killer smile!!! Very Happy Bad to hear about the Collar Bone... attached to the shoulder Bone... attached to the back Bone... attached to the head Bone pirat

I was worrying about the impending petrol crisis and now something like this - not so cool, but still it could have been much worse and we're thankful for that at least.

But that fat lady she has not yet sung, so I'll be seeing ya at the Shell

Twisted Evil

Thanks for the news GSLady (our reporter on location!!!) Wink
