Pontdrift over Easter Empty Pontdrift over Easter

Post by Daleen 8th February 2010, 19:21

We are planning to ride to Pontdrift over Easter weekend for our next extreme point. We will be going via Tzaneen to have a look at the big baobab trees and take a more scenic route. The trip will be a combination of tar and gravel roads. Anyone interested to join us? Smile

Daleen, I already did the Pontdrift point, otherwise it would have been an option!

Do you want a tip? Ask Drix for input - some of the most awesome riding I've done! cheers

Just be carefull of the "Great Trek" north to Moria over Easter.

More than a million people visit Moria over Easter, so I would steer clear of Limpopo province. 100's and 100's of Putco busses, taxis and skorro skorro's making the pilgrimage north.

Just be carefull !!!!!

Thanks for the advice Knopkop. Did not think of that. We will keep that in mind. Suspect

Marnus, I will definitely speak to Drix - I've heard about your trip before... the one next to the Botswana border? Smile

Tip: Those Putco busses stick to tar roads... clown So travel by gravel as far as possible!

We also did Pontdirft already. But I agree with Marnus, you can definitely ask Drix for some pointers. We all enjoyed his trip very very much!! Wink

Daleen - send me your email adress - will send you the trip planning doc i compiled a number of years ago. You must sleep over at Balerno Lodge, 7kms south of Pontdrift - one night is not enough.
