The wheel nuts on most BMW bikes take a T50 Torx, and the brake callipers a T40. Two handy tools to have with you. I was surprised how many places do not have these in their workshops, specially tyre & brake places in small towns. Happened to me in 2006

It is like the old adage - where your Mother In Law is very healthy - she has been walking 5km's per day for the last year - only problem is nobody knows where she is.
On the other hand you get along much better with your wifes mother in law than with you mother in law

Well I must say, this thread has taken on quite a new angle. Mothers and mothers-in-law must definately stay home, even if you have one of those bike trailers and even if you want to leave it behind in Mozambique. There are cheaper ways to loose a MIL

Are the spare gloves for Mother-in-law?
ok back to the topic
My 2c about gloves:
Those yellow plastic dishwashing gloves are ideal to wear under your biking gloves to keep the early morning cold or wind out.
Also works well to keep hands dry in wet weather.

Another thing I always have with me is the two standard size wash basin plugs (wasbakprop). How many times have you been to places where they have a bath or basin but no plug

...without my wife's agreement!
I would just hate to get home and find that the door locks had been changed....?
I mean, how would I get my other bike, the other two jackets and the rest of the rider gear out of the cupboard if she did that to me...

Re: I would not go on a long trip without my.... (complete this sentence)
Is that not what the forum is all about What will life be without some humour? Back to the thread: If you have a bike with a very high exhaust, like my R1100S, it is good to have some condoms with you to pull over the exhaust ends to prevent water from getting in when raining. (and these days you get them free )
