's no(w) fun on the roads....
As we have all experienced, the past few days have been extremely cold.
Dorothy and I travelled to Plettenberg Bay for the 12-16 June and on our way back on Wednesday, 16 June found out why it was so cold.
At first it was some remnants of the snow in the early morning hours..
From Aberdeen we started seeing some of the snow on the distant mountains.
As we got closer to Graaff-Reinet we started to see bits of snow on the ground. This snow increased in quantity the closer we got to Lootsberg Pass.
At the pass there were some trucks that could not go any further because the snow on the road had started icing up and this made the conditions very slippery.
I initially walked the turn to check for traction before driving through. Once through the pass it was the end of the snow.

En ons het ampertjies vir die naweek saamgegaan met die fietse!
Die eerste keer dat ek dankbaar was werk het prioriteit geniet...
Mooi pics Dave. Sulke tye is 'n motor se binnekant warmer as enige woonhuis.
Hier by ons was dit voorlaasnag -5 en vanoggend -3. Dit is nou 09h30 en darem effens opgegaan na +3!
