Re: Ruby River Report
QUICK TRIP REPORT
Thank you Trudie for a great Trip.
We all met at the BP, at 7h30, 8 x Bikes, 4 pillions. Jan and Daleen, soon to be club members, joined us for their first trip. With a very sick Dilla, 12 of us started the journey.
When we left the temp drop down to 2 C, very cold!
At our first stop was Middelburg, where we had breakfast. There I decided to pull out my OBS, and this was the start of great friendships. Trudie, Betsie and Jan all decided to also get a bottle or so!
Trudie pre-planned the route, the shortest :-) which took us from Middelburg on the N4 to Belfast, Dullstroom and then Lydenburg. We filled up at Lydenburg, had quick refreshments and decided to do the last stretch of the route to Rubey River Lodge.
Johan hinted to see if anybody was interested in riding the Longtom pass, Christa and I opt and decided that this is a must, seeing that we’re already in the area...Johan great idée, very scenic with lots of twisties!
The last stretch to Rubey we had 22km of gravel road (s-riders can also do this!)
Back at the ranch we all met up for a great evening. Some went for swimming lessons, some shared rooms, and we will not ask questions!? What happens on the trip stays on the trip...
The following morning 15 fellow club members met up with us. We had breakfast, said our good buys and headed back home.
What a great weekend!

Re: Ruby River Report
Thanks Trudy, for a lekker weekend.
The Lodge was nice and peaceful, inspite of the horrendous music they played!!!
Frik was a great sweep, even when we were forced 'off-road' due to the ever-present roadworks.
The rest of the group was fantastic! We had a good few laughs, and as Peet said "what stays on the trip, happened on the trip!" Or is that the other way round????
Johan M, thanks for sharing the seat and the chips
Dilla is feeling a bit better, thanks for all the caring and support, it's much appreciated.
Thanks to all for a great weekend!

Ruby River Resort
Thanks Trudie, Johan and all the other nice club members for a great trip. The BMW club spirit surely made Daleen and me feel welcome from start to finish. It was our first long trip on the new bike and we enjoyed every moment of it. It was my "baptism" of long trips. (The resort should be forced to put up warning signs next to such a small pool!). You will definitely see us on the next trip.
Thanx

Some of the ride.
The kuier was so extreme we forgot to do the kodak-moments... but then for some it is better this way
The breakfast scene at Coffe&More, Middelburg
Refresher time at Lydenburg
During breakfast at Ruby River Lodge - an extremely biker friendly venue!
The birds...
Trudie on the roll again...
