Kosmos Run - GS
What a ride, is all I can say ................
I have 220 photo's and will start posting the best ones once I have worked through all of them.
I am to tired to think up nice words to do ride report right now. I left home at 06:00 this morning and got home at 18:30, that is a 12 and a half hour day, I am pooped.
We had a nice and easy ride to Secunda on nice open dirt highways with the odd mud puddle here and there, no miss haps and a bunch of happy people!!
Lunch at the Dros was great, with some great company and lots of laughs.
The way back was quite a lot of tar, but also quite a bit more mud. We got to Bruno's "alien mud" in the mielefield, and this where the fun started. Hell that mud was something else. The December club ride was a breeze compared to this mud, but luckily this mud was only a few meters at a time and not a 8km stretch like in December. When we walked through this mud, your boot will sink halfway to your knee!! The "suction" in this mud was so strong that my GS Rallye Boots got unclipped from just walking in it. Eish........ Geez, but it was fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got back to the tar close to Bapsfontein, and promptly got pulled over by the cops. The copper wanted to fine me R1500 for my orange headlight protector WTF???? Some nice talking and explaining from my side and me removing the protector on the spot saved my bacon. One of us got fined R500 for not carrying their bike licence card.
Close to Bapsfontrin we said our goodbyes, and then myself, Bruno and Sias took more dirt along the railway line, back towards Baps.
Thanks for everyone who joined this ride, 16 bikes, 3 ladies, and no pillions. Was a great day out.
Please go ahead and tell your story and post lots and lots of pics! There were lots of cameras!!

I have never been this dirty after a ride!! You should have seen my boots after running and pushing behind a 800GS with Battlewing tyres spinning like crazy and going absolutely nowhere
Even my glasses was covered in mud

Niiiiiice!
Dave, I understand women use mud as a cosmetic product, so if they can use it to make their faces prettier, then the GS group can certainly use mud to make their bikes look prettier!!!

Then I guess they need to find lots more, deeper mud....

Re: Kosmos Run - GS
Thanks KK! It was a great day! Go mudbusters! The alien mud did not win, although he/she tried very hard! I've never in mud that is so bloody persistent, I ended up being 6 inches taller - could not get the stuff off my boots. A Sias said: We are now calibrated - we know what Alien mud is like and nothing will scare us! The son is so tired he went to bed at 20h45... And I must say I feel like I've had a good gym workout! I had a good sprint to help get the Honda through and also gave the Battlewings a hand - as you say they just spin!
At the powerstation
At the roadblock (impressive powers of persuasion KK!)
Satisfaction after action!
Safely home - Captain Morgan pose(again - sigh the influence of TV... :-) ) Just before panelbeating session (gearlever, brakelever, clutch...)

Re: Kosmos Run - GS
Then we got to the second part. This part looked alot worse than the first one, so I decided I will give it a go first to see where the best line will be.
I figured the line to the right was the best option, and committed. I don't know how i managed to save this one, it was very close!!

Looking at Jaco going through the mud in the last photo, note how deep the front wheel is in the mud. Fun stuff this.
