Kosmos Run - 07 March 2010
I have been dreading the arrival of this day for some time, you see it is the first ride that I “volunteered” for to lead.
Last night I took a little kalmeer pilletjie and this morning at 05h30 was up and dressed. Checked the Forum but all quiet no change the ride is going on.
Got to Shell Atterbury and there were already people there before me.
Then the riders briefing – By the way congratulation Dave – our new Chairman
We set of towards Delmas and stopped in Delmas for fuel
Uhmm .. Where is the Fuel cap??
We dodged the potholes and trucks and eventually found some Cosmos that was photogenic
Frik patiently waiting
Got to Que Sera and had a table set for us
Thanks to each of the 23 riders that helped me to have a very nice ride.
Thanks also to Chris for Sweeping

Well done Wahl.
Dave does not seem to be too pleased to be announced Chairman of the club. Great surprise shoot of Dave.
I arrived home after 18:20 from our GS ride. When I find the energy, I post up for the GS side of life.

Nice pics of the Kosmos there, is it just my imagination or are the Kosmos a bit scarce this year??

There was a huge field to the left past Gracelands, and we rode on narrow dirt with thick Kosmos on either side. You were probably enjoying cruising on the dirt to notice.

Alun, where do you get this nonsense from??? How can you make a summation from a facial expression???
"Dave does not seem to be too pleased to be announced Chairman of the club. Great surprise shoot of Dave."
Dave is very honoured to be selected Chairman and is looking forward to ensuring that the club continues to grow, that all members new and old have a fantastic time while enjoying the trips and various rides. For your info, this morning is not the first time he heard that he was selected Chairman, the committee members decided that on Friday evening when they had their side meeting.
Please check what you say before you say it!!!

Re: Kosmos Run - S
Here some of my pics of the "Dis mos mielies Kosmos ride"
First picture here of Etienne making his unexpected announcement. Thanks Etienne. Am honoured at the support I have been given by the committee in asking me to represent the Club as their Chairman and by the members in voting me onto the committee. I will certainly make every effort to make the Club the preferred choice for their biking Sunday rides, trips and socials.

Deon
Frik on the 'Vet K'
Nick
Abe putting Johan Maree's GT through its paces....(lot of bike-swopping going on lately??)
Dorothy
Chris
The flowers
The 19 bikes that joined us...
Just had to turn back to take a photo of this tractor
When we got to Que Sera the group had grown considerably
Thanks to all and enjoyable spirited ride and to Wahl for a well-led first ride.
......and last but not least to Chris and Golda for making sure all stayed together and stopping when funny warning lights started acting up after the first pothole next to Rietvlei Dam.

Re: Kosmos Run - S
Wow! You are way too serious about life not to see some subtle humour when it presents itself. You did note I was ONLY referring to the photo of Dave at the time of announcement. You also DO note I made no mention of DISLIKING Dave being the chairman. Obviously Dave at that moment was surprised at the announcement. The comment is purely about the photo.DotP wrote:Alun, where do you get this nonsense from??? How can you make a summation from a facial expression???

FACT: I do support Dave to be chairman, and immediately after the vote I mentioned to others that Dave should be the chairman as he would be a good leader.

Wahl, I have not had a chance to tell you how I truly enjoyed the Kosmos run. I know the nervous feeling when I did my first breakfast, you just dont want to make a mistake or lose someone. It was a great and pleasurable ride, well done.
