We all ride bikes... but where do they come from?

Who was that ingenious person that thought of the idea first?

Guys, I present to you Wilhelm Maybach and Adolf Daimler.

Was this perhaps the birth of our Beemers?

On the first trip this motorbike did, 13km near Stuttgart in Germany, the hot engine set fire to the saddle, presumably making this the first, but not the last, example of a young motorcyclist riding as though his trousers were on fire. (from "History of the motorbike"
