R1200GS recall in USA?
I wonder if we are also affected?

BMW of North America issued a recall on 2006-2008 R1200GS motorcycles. The fuel pump control unit housings of the affected bikes may not have proper sealing. As a result, water can enter the control unit housing, creating a humid atmosphere which may corrode the fuel pump.
The recall affects R1200GS produced between August 2006 and January 2008. BMW has not announced a remedy for the issue yet. It is also unclear whether the R1200GS Adventure is affected. Owners are asked to contact BMW at 1-800-831-1117 for more information.

Re: R1200GS recall in USA?
Apparently when you wash the bike water stays behind on top of the fuel tank and eventually enters the voltage sensor to the fuel pump. It happened to a fellow rider from Newcastle's 1200GS(2006 model), a small electronic sensor the size of a R2 coin R 850.00(local bike shop), extra silicon and he was back on the road again.
Tinus- I have to post more . . .

Had the same problem and left me standed at work. BMW came and pick the bike up and some seals etc. was replaced. So far so good.
