It is essential to secure your place as soon as possible as the resort will only hold provisional bookings for a short while.

A 25% deposit is required on booking, the balance to be paid no later than Friday, 5th September.

Ina and I will have to leave around 4:30pm from Midrand on the Friday afternoon. Maybe there are other unfortunates who also have to wait until after work and then we can ride together?

Remind me to mention this at the next club meeting.

Thanks, that will be great. It is always more social to ride together with members of the club. We can meet at the normal place (Atterbury Shell) unless somebody has better ideas.

Probably better to leave it as Atterbury Shell - less chance of someone getting the meeting place wrong.

Excellent. I am really looking forward to this event. Ina and I thought it would be much nicer to wake up at the resort than traveling there on Saturday. In any case, maybe some people want to take a ride out on Saturday and the road to the East is absolutely perrrrrfect for an outing on a motorcycle.

I might be interested in a Saturday trip but not if I am the only one. I also have to work on Friday and I don't like riding in the dark, so as a result I have not yet decided if I am going this year

Have already worked out a route for the Saturday and will recce it morning of 7th September when we leave Badplaas. Will take us towards Barberton, through Nelshoogte, Bothasnek to Nelspruit. Then through Schoemanskloof to Machadodorp and back to Badplaas - 257km.

Need to check out one leg re roadworks - Wahl mentioned this to me following his trip up there two weeks ago. If that leg has long delays there is an alternate leg he proposed which would then make the ride 318km.

So, whoever wants to join is welcome - otherwise they can always do another route they prefer.

Once I have done the recce I will post the route and give the Mapsource file to whoever wants it.

That will really be great. Maybe you can then recommend which route we should take on the Friday to get there as quick as possible while still having a great ride. We also do not want to travel at night if that can be prevented at all.

Commiserate with Jamie on the clean-up job. On the LT's maiden trip last year we rode in the rain from Piet Retief to St Lucia. The only time we were out of the rain was when having coffee at Pongola. Took me the better part of 3 hours to get the bike clean.

I attended the ABBG when it was held at Badplaas. Had a great time.
We had a wonderful ride to Nelspruit,Sabie,Graskop.
