MOBILE RADIO Empty MOBILE RADIO

Post by tj 12th November 2009, 15:49

This morning I went to the wholesaler to buy some 2-way radios (as we are agents) and enquired about a small radio

But first the background:

My (previous) RT was equipped with a factory fitted radio/CD unit and I was quite spoilt with this unit. Now, riding the GT I realise what that luxury meant to me in the traffic of late. One does not want to listen to iPod all the time. There is Jeremy, Darren Scott and others that can shorten your ride.

Well when I enquired about a unit that may slot into the GT's glove compartment the Sales Manager showed me an even smaller unit.

MOBILE RADIO SangeanDT120

I was amazed with the quality of sound and reception. Sangean is not a well known brand in everyday life but quite strong in 2-way, marine and hamm. This unit is a gem;

- it switches off automatically when the earphone jack is disconnected
- buttons easy to operate with a gloved finger
- fits into a pocket without irritation
- uses 1x AAA battery for loooong life
- Must be used with earphone as it also doubles as an antenna

Price R500-00 (Incl VAT)

Hmmm... I also like radio... but only Tuks FM Smile

So can you not use this radio with your iPod / generic in-earphones?

TJ

Bossie. Jy kan hom by my bestel. Egter 2 weke wagtyd. Die nuwe besending is op die water.

Wat die GT betref: 'n Man is nie 'n man as hy nie sy mind kan change nie!

To All that showed interest in the Sangean radios:

Have just been notified that the shipment is delayed and ETA is around 20 Dec. By that time the suppliers have already closed shop for the festive season.

No other units available anywhere.

Can we take a rest on this one untill January?
