When will the final arrangements be avail for this trip? I guess we can not wait to long to secure bookings.

Was intending to go on this trip but not going any more.

Due to the youngest turning 21 the first weekend of May, we will not be able to go anymore either

Thanks for adding us to the list, maybe Jesslyn might join us on her own bike, she is not sure of the German school holidays yet.

I spoke to most of the venues and our block booking is still open.

Will hear tomorrow from Bulawayo. It looks promising though.

It looks if our previous back-up is OK for this one too. That is now the one with the "pikante lyfie"

Would have loved it but we are going to Botswana and Zambia on an extended trip in June which will leave me with no leave for the rest of 2010. EISH!!!

Has the accommodation been reserved? Under BMW Pretoria? Have you managed to agree tariffs for accommodation at the various places, what are they? When do we start booking? Lastly, will we have aback-up vehicle

To answer your questions:

1. Yes. A block booking under the name of BMW Club. This does not however guarantee a place for participants. One need to book and confirm individually.
2. Tariffs need to be negotiated by the individual as there are several options available. Scroll upwards on this thread for some indications
3. Yes the back-up is 90% confirmed

En dan wil ek ook graag weet of elkeen hulle eie koste betaal of word daar 'n vasgestelde prys vir die trip betaal, indien daar nog enige plekke oop is.

Far be it from me to highjack a tread with another relevant topic, but i feel i have to comment here. Appolgies for stepping on toes - the above comment i dont agree with - "scroll up and look for the information you need".
In the past - up until the last katse dam trip i lead - all rides had a detailed trip planning document that contained all the information you might have needed, thought about or not even yet.
The design and layout of the document was approved by the central committe and has been used from before we joined the club in 2004. What happened to this document and why is it no longer being used.
Has a decision been taken to stop using this very informative trip planning layout. Personally the layout thereof acted as a appetiser for the trip as it gave you the prospective rider an overview of the ride, what to expect, where to stay and all contact numbers.

If you read Johan's thread then you will see the trip design was done

I have read on numerous occasions that you remark on this subject. Why don't you offer your assistance to the Rides Committee as the official Trip Designer?

It seems you have ample spare time available?

I know i have made mention of this at a number of times and different threads - perhaps because i feel so strongly about - also mentioned it at one of the rides committe meetings last year.

I was an active member of the roads committee for the better part of 5 years, during which time i did all my trip planning on the official format - believe one should not outstay your welcome on any of the management platforms so as to rather allow fresh people/idees to come in and lead the way.

With regards to the time - sitting in crappy meetings - can then comment to while away the time
