New king of Hyper Sport bikes
According to the September issue of Sport Rider, the K1300S is the new king in the Hyper Sports segment knocking the Busa off the thrown........and by some margin that is
this is pretty big news for BMW as traditionally they are only known to be a dominant force in the Dual and Tourer segments.........not that I did not know that all along anyway
I have a scanned version in PDF of the article........is there any way to upload/host it on this forum? Please let me know
In the mean time here is a link to the article courtesy of BMWSuperbikesdotcom

Yikes - the K scores a 9 / 10 for being "Fun to Ride", No wonder the old man smiles so much

Re: New king of Hyper Sport bikes
It caused a bit of a stir in the sport bike world to say the least.......
If it was from MCN or some little insignificant publication, it would have gone by “unnoticed” but Sport Rider apparently carries some weight.
Very often sport bikes are “rank” on their track ability, speed and how easy they can wheelie. For long the Busa’s speed was in such a different league, that no serious contenders were deemed fit to be matched/measured against it. What I like about the test is the real life comparisons. Outright top-end the Busa is still faster although only by a few miles but where it matters on the road like roll-ons, the K came out trumps.
And who would believe a few years ago that the Germans will build a LIGHTER comparative bike than its Japanese rival.
However, since the introduction of the K1200S, it was regarded by a lot – including me – as the best hyper sport package on the market.
Only now, it is “official”

Re: New king of Hyper Sport bikes
I especially liked the part of the article where it states that top speed is insignificant, because both bikes are governed anyway

Re: New king of Hyper Sport bikes
Yes, the old mine is bigger than yours debate.
I can however say, anything above 290km/h (180m/h) – true speed – is SERIOUS business

Re: New king of Hyper Sport bikes
Tend to agree with the last point made above by JR. With regards to the K13 taking over from the Busa - excellent news.
