Rainbow Festival: Steytlerville 16 - 18 Oct
16 – 18 October 2009, Steytlerville, Eastern Cape.
Steytlerville’s annual Rainbow Festival is a celebration of all the good things in life. Join our quaint little town as we uncover the colours of the Karoo and put on a display of the best local talent.
The Festival takes to the streets again this year with live entertainment in the main road as well as a craft market featuring original works of art. On show will also be a Xhosa cultural village, art exhibitions, traditional food, beer gardens, and 4x4 and quad biking activities.
Between the towering mountains, awe-inspiring sunsets and quaint Victorian architecture, Steytlerville is a feast for the senses and together with the Rainbow Festival makes for a perfect excuse to leave the city and soak up some fresh air and country hospitality in a setting never to be forgotten.

Have been planning a KKNK trippie for a few years now - but life happens and the timing of the KKNK is very close to the Buff. Maybe 2010. Also in this general direction

Re: Rainbow Festival: Steytlerville 16 - 18 Oct
Last year December... even before I was part of the club, I did a semi-solo trip via Clarens to Cradock and from there through Pearston, Jansenville, Klipplaat, Willowmore, Uniondale and over to Knysna. Stayed there for a couple of days (Brenton on Sea) and left for Herolds Bay close to George for two days. Then went from there to Jeffreysbay for another week or so, after going via Cape Augallas to Cape Town where we stayed another week, after heading home via the boring N1.
Thinking back, the best part of that 4000km trip was going through those tiny, genuine, authentic Karoo towns. I'll seriously consider going down that way again, but only if I can ride Baviaanskloof too!

HAHAHA... daar is skaars 'n pad.

No - tar with dust on it. Photo above - yes this about the limit of what ons would want to do with an LT - should seriously think about recinding his LT riding rights????
With regards to baviaanspoort - will defray that to Marnus and other likewise minded free spirits.
Who is the owner of the LT above. Seems like 800ST in front of him, and the area seems to be the Grain Silo's on the old Warmbaths road.

In your dreams!!
Was on Ladies Weekend trip at the Brandfort Concentration Camp memorial. The bike in front is Stienie on her 800ST ROAD bike.
See - even Stienie is getting to grips with the sand......

Dont know - was not there - commented on another post.
After seeing all the riders i realised it must have been on the Ladies Ride.
But i dont have a problem with that kind of "off-road" - Charles street is much worse now (West of Duncan) - have done softer sand than that in the past - going into and coming out of Mpofini spa in 2005 when we went to Kosi Bay.
