PONTDRIFT - THE UNOFFICIAL CLUB RIDE
We met at the usual place, Shell Atterbury, Saturday morning at 07h30.
After a great day of riding, we arrived at our "home" for the weekend -Balerno Bush Lodge - 10kms from Pontdrift and 50kms from Alldays.
This place was great. Wonderful accomodation where you could park your bike right outside your room.
The facilities were amazing and we had the whole lodge to ourselves.
Every evening we sat around the fire. Thanks Pikkie - Chief Pyro Specialist
The next morning we set off for Pontdrif - only 10kms away
The group at the Pontdrift Border post. Well done to the 3 lady bikers.
The Coetzee Clan - how great that a family can do this together.
This is the cable car to cross the river at Pontdrift
Just hope it was in better condition than the sign boards !
The trees alongside the road were simply awesome. We just had to stop and enjoy.
This was the scene at Beit Bridge border post. What a sight ! This guy filled up 3 drums with fuel to take with him to Zim.
And this is what he paid
The sights we amazing, This is how you load a truck. The liquid running down the side was most probably fuel !
We then rode to Aventura Tshipise for lunch and a Weighless icecream.
Saw a very strange signpost in Alldays. Anyone interested in HOMEMADE INFORMATION ?
Then while filling up on the way home on Monday was horrified to see HUMAN biltong for sale. Wonder if it tastes like chicken ?
The open road and a 1200GS - what more could you ask for ?
Thanks to Sue ,Abe & family, Pikkie, Elaine, Nick , Nicky for a truely memorable weekend.

Hi all,
Thanx for the GREAT weekend.
Reminder of what the club is really about - open roads, friendship, fun and laughter.
Wonder if Elaine has placed the 800GS order yet? Looked quite @ home on Nic's bike!

Yes,
Elaine, did you order your new 800GS yet ?
AND did you get a NOISY PIPE like Nick's ?
The bike really suited you and you rode it like a PRO !

Re: PONTDRIFT - THE UNOFFICIAL CLUB RIDE
Balerno is one of those little gems you dont see from the road - but once you are there it gets under your skin. Did you walk to the dam amongst the hills???
