YEF: Badplaas - Arrangements

On behalf of Dorothy - the organiser and administrator of the Club's Year-end Function:

Venue:
Forever Resort in Badplaas.

Accommodation:
Because the resort does not offer single night accommodation over weekends, it will be a two-night weekend away trip.
Due to the resorts policies, those members wishing to come through for the Saturday night only, will still need to pay for two night’s accommodation.
For more information regarding the types of accommodation set aside specifically for the Club, contact Dorothy on 082 339-5142.

Catering Arrangements:
A braai is being arranged for the Friday night at a cost of R100 per person.
If members choose not to participate in this activity, they will need to make their own dinner arrangements for the Friday evening.
The costs will be included in the overall payment due to be made to the Club for accommodation, the DJ hire, the awards dinner buffet, etc.
The official awards evening will consist of a buffet dinner at a cost of R145 per person on Saturday the 31st and will be held at the Bush Lapa in the game reserve.
A R10 fee per person will be payable in respect of the transfers with the game vehicle to and from the Lapa.
The costs will be included in the overall payment due to be made to the Club for accommodation, the DJ hire, the awards dinner buffet, etc.

Travel Arrangements:
The Rides Committee will confirm these details along with a route map closer to the date.

The resort offers an extensive range of leisure activities.

Booking & Payment Arrangements:
Bookings must be made directly with Dorothy either on Club nights (1st Friday of every month) or by contacting her at 082 339 514TWO or on her email at: dprins@microsoft.com.
A 25% deposit will be required with bookings, and effective from July onwards.
Full payment will be required by all members by 30 September as the Club needs to make final payment to the venue by 15 October.

Total Charges:
Accommodation + Club fee of R30 p.p. + R10 p.p. for Bush Lapa transfer + R145 p.p. for the official awards buffet dinner + Friday night braai at R100 p.p. if opted in.

Hi Guys and Gals...

At this stage, all new bookings must be paid up in full please.
I will be finalising the booking to Badplaas on MONDAY 28th and we will be paying Badplaas on 30th.
Any booking not paid up in full on or before Monday 28th will be forfeit and the booking will be given to any wait-listed people.
From 1st October, Badplaas will fill any unused booking from their own waiting-list. Any new booking after 28th September will have to book with Badplaas directly...!

Richard - i sent you a MP with regards to my payment - done directly at FNB Hilcrest - the reference number provided by Dot was used on the payment - have you received it - HRT2-27 LOlivier - we are sharing with Andre Botha. Was paid into the bank account on the 4th Sept.

I have also paid, but LeRoy the account I was given was FNB HATFIELD and not FNB HILCREST.

Yes that is correct - paid at the FNB Hilcrest - believe the banking system still allows for payment at any branch to any other branch - used Hatfield Acc Detail - only problem is - the proof of payment is so faint one can barely scan it and send a decipherable copy.

Two weeks to go and then all roads will lead to Badplaas!

Is the route available for those wanting to leave Pretoria earlier in the day?

We will only be leaving at 14 or at least we will be meeting a few friends at 14:00 at Bapsfontein at the filling station - plan is to leave from there at 14:00.

The 'S' will ride as follows: (Leader Johan Maree)

Third departure for the day

Friday 30 Nov: Depart from Atterbury Shell at 13h00 sharp. Via Hans Strydom, old road to Dronkwordspruit, N4 to Witbank, vanWyksdrif, Hendrina, Carolina to Badplaas - 272km

Saturday 1 Nov: Roundtrip for the day: Leaving Badplaas at 09h00 via Slaaihoek to Machadodorp for brunch/lunch and then Carolina to Badplaas. - 230km for the day. Cannot be too long on the road as we have to be back at the resort to see how the Bulls retain the cup

Sunday 2 Nov: Leave Badplaas at 09h30 sharp for a scenic ride home via Queen's River, Nelspruit, KaapseHoop. - 454km

We have tried to include as many twisties as possible - for all to enjoy!

The 11:00 Road Ride...

I will be leading a group from Atterbury Shell, DPEARTING at 11:00.
The route will be via Atterbury, Hans Strydom, Lynnwood, Bronkhorstspruit Road, N4 to Witbank (Swartbos Rd) offramp. We will break for a 10-min leg-stretch, smoke, refuel, whatever at Total Tasbet Park (corner Kiepersol Ave). I am not planning a lunch stop, so please bring your "padkos" or similar to eat along the way.

We will depart there about 12:30, continuing via Van Wyksdrif, Hendrina to Carolina to refuel. Thereafter we depart directly on to Badplaas, where the group can chill out as much as they choose before the braai.

I will be travelling at steady legal speeds, with minimum halts. If you are a newer rider, this group will give you the opportunity to ride comfortably without having to maintain a frenetic pace.

Who in this Club rides/leads like a madman or in a mad manner? That person should be banned from the club. Any names that may be coming up?

As I see it the GS guys will be leaving 09h00 for a pleasant day long ride to Badplaas;
the S's will be leaving at 13h00 for a 3h 40min ride at legal speeds arriving at Badplaas around 18h00

Le Roy, Ek dink ek sal dalk by julle aansluit en vandaar af Badplaas toe ry aangesien ek ook eers teen 2-uur daar kan wees. Regso?

Reg so - ons is dan 5 fietse. Kry mekaar by die vultasie op die delmas pad net voor die bapsfontein 4 rigting - groter en makliker om in en uit te ry - praat nou van pretoria se kant af.

Laaste vergadering loop eers ten einde 12:30 - sal so net na 13:00 by die huis ry - plan is om 14:00 op die laatste daar te trek. Dan rofweg 200km oor. Sien jou vrydag.

Is dit die vulstasie as jy van Elarduspark se kant afkom?

Vanaf iemand met 'local knowledge':

Die vulstasie vóór die 4-rigtingstop is 'n BP en sowat 1km voor die stop. Dit is by die Venter Centre en jy moet afdraai na hom.

Die vulstasie op die oorkantste hoek van die 4-rigtingstop is 'n Caltex en kan nie gemis word nie. Hierdie is nmm 'n beter wagpunt want die BP is weggesteek.

Dalk moet julle die regte vulstasie nomineer, anders wag julle vir mekaar...

Stem nogal saam met jou maar ek sal inval by Le Roy se reelings.

BP garage 1Km voor die stop op die R50 - Rigting van Pretoria na Bapsfontein - is makliker om in te ry - die ander mense kom van kempton op die R25 deur - so ook makliker vir hulle om in te ry. Beplan om op die laatste 13:15 hier weg te kom - rofweg 30 min se ry soontoe - afhangende van die verkeer. As jy voor ons daar is - Andre Botha (Rooi RT) was saam met ons Katse toe.
