Re: Vanished ratings
Put aside the semantics. Nitrious seems like the ultimate performance enhancer and appropriate to the 5 star members.
Coming to think of it, with a spurt of nitrious you may be able to pull a caravan with the LT
Admin, it appears size counts here. I suggest you change the ratings to 2 inch, 4 inch, 6 inch, superman

Re: Vanished ratings
Admin,
I think the only way to solve this, is to remove the rating system.
It seems that what ever rating system you try to introduce there will always be a problem.
WTF??? Who cares!

Re: Vanished ratings
This is more comical watching the debate about the rating system than the actual rating system.

Re: Vanished ratings
Seems like this will always be a bone of contention. The ratings have always been there -on the old forum and now the new forum, and i dont see any reason to remove it. Tend to agree with Happy-go-Lucky's comments on this.

Re: Vanished ratings
Does it really matter what rating you have??? I truly don't even know what my rating is and frankly don't really care. All that matters is that we all are interacting on this forum! It is not as though anybody approaches you at a clubride or clubeveining, addressing you as "slowcoach" or "longhauler"?

Re: Vanished ratings
Spare a thought for Admin………so many people, so many opinions……and it is impossible to adhere to all requests.
All internet forums have a grading/rating system of sorts. We have a new forum so maybe the “title” changes were good. Whether I like it or not is besides the point……Admin made the call, we (must) accept.
Of course opinions on the matter are good and we are all free to voice it………here goes……
I don't like my rating.......might influence my future forum bahaviour ......I'm considering pulling a "rejuvenated" one
Having said (and read the replies) this, we have seriously digressed from the original topic which was........
should we all start from scratch on the new forum - a question which has since been answered clearly......we have indeed all started from scratch and it's now more than 8 months later

You can live with your new 'title' for a few days!
By the way, anyone who wants their own special title - I'm game - Let's hear what you come up with!
Re: Vanished ratings
Yes - change mine to LT Fanatic. As Sharkie said - we dont have to watch Egoli or any of the other soapies. I reckon this is one of the most read and answered threads on the forum.
Who would have thought that my initial posting would have such an effect amd create such a diverse reaction. Jamie, maybe you, me an dave should rejuvenate - seeing as he has the experience in this regard.

I think the forum has a conspicuous deficiency in some light hearted banter

Re: Vanished ratings
not much wrong with the humour around here
but, it’s an (forum) art to be witty without being offensive to someone else’s remarks and if you do want to be light hearted, “choose your customers”………..at least make sure you know that person well enough in order for them to take the remark in a light hearted way.
Actually it’s pretty much the same as in real life……..one will take side remarks from friends which would otherwise be offensive coming from strangers
what argument??
……coming from a LT riderJa - that is quite obvious - maybe you should upgrade to a K model bike - might pick up speed then
why, don't you believe us?..........is it the wet riding our the coffee in the pub part?
q: ….Difficult to hear the wife when travelling above 120km/h but that could be something to do with my hearing and age.
a:……… WOW..... do you pay extra for that feature ???
We should start a group!! We can call it: Dont be a menace while drinking your juice and sitting on your bike in the dark!!

Why not help Jamie out by giving him the title of "Rejuvenated".Admin wrote:Dont you dare!MadnohB wrote:..I'm considering pulling a "rejuvenated" one ..

Re: Vanished ratings
I would agree that this forum is in need of some decent online banter.
As Jamie mentioned though, you have to choose your victims, carefully. I sometimes put in a dig on Jamie or maybe even Dave but then they know me and where I am coming from. I would not suddenly just take a swipe at anybody just in case they really took it up the wrong way.
There are people that will take a swipe at anyone who disagrees with them. I think in internet lingo they are referred to as trolls and their only purpose is to sow dissent on a forum.
Luckily we have none of those here......

Re: Vanished ratings
Dave - i see you have been degraded again - you dropped a star. Maybee you lost it in the rain on sunday.
Seems the star rating/name convention ratio's have changed.
Luckily personalizing your rating name drops away all the stars - so it takes away that bone of contention.

Hadn't even noticed - maybe admin has now put us on a demerit system - the more you post the more stars you lose.....
...and then when you have lost all of them the reverse happens and you get more stars.
Very clever plan of admin - after a few rounds of banter nobody will know if you are losing or gaining stars and then no one will give a continental. Won't know whether we are coming or going.
Very clever lady this!!
