Favourite bike
I have been wondering for a little while now. Those who have or own multi bikes, which bike in their collection is their favourite and the reason why.
Also those with a large number of bikes, do you even own a sedan or bakkie?

Re: Favourite bike
Don’t have a favourite……..love them both
Circumstances……ie. riding partners, distance to be traveled, road condition, luggage carrying capability, mood, etc (in no particular order) on the day/outing, dictates the choice.

Re: Favourite bike
I have a favourite bike - The one I am riding at the time!
I personally do not have a car, only a bike and it has to serve me as a car would. I think for that, one cannot go wrong with a BM!

Re: Favourite bike
I also do not have a favourite. ADORE THEM BOTH.
For the choice - my reasons are the same as MadnoB's.
I also have a Corsa Diesel Bakkie - and for interest sake - it's 9 years old, and it has approx. 87000km's on the clock.
I also own a City Golf, but my mom uses it.

Re: Favourite bike
My choice usually depends on the whether!
Whether I want to ride the white one or the red one.
Have an Isuzu Double cab 4x4 with 345 000km and a BMW320d with 112 000km on it - hardly use the car.
The Isuzu gets used weekends to take the dogs to the veld for a run.

Re: Favourite bike
Rather interesting replies.
I have a bakkie, which has hardly been ridden since I started riding my bike in February. Still on the same tank of fuel since February.
Rain or shine, day or night, I ride my bike where ever I go.

Re: Favourite bike
One needs more than 1 bike, then you can ride what you feel like. If you only have one, it gets stale after a while, and it does not put a smile on your face. Thats not biking
Re: Favourite bike
I think one sometimes takes the “privilege” of riding a bike for granted.
Quite honestly, I’ll ride anything (well maybe with the exception of one or two) as long as I can ride.
To be able to ride a bike of choice makes it even more special.

Re: Favourite bike
Unfortunately I only have the Dakar, but it remains great fun though. Obviously would have loved an Adventure, a road bike and sommer an enduro bike as well, but I'll keep dreaming for now.
Car is the good old 93 Citi Golf and also need to mention them bicycles. All in all I spend more time on my mountain bike than both car and Dakar together I think!
That just makes GS-biking so much more fun when I get time for it - I'm so used to 2 wheels, except then it aint effort like the cycling!!!

Re: Favourite bike
I don’t have a problem to decide which bike: my fun bike (my only bike!) is my 800GS.
Difficult to choose between my two bicycles though:
I'm only starting to get fit again after a down period, but I like the smooth riding of my Fimas - a road bike imported from Italy few years ago. Then again the Cannondale MTB has its place too.
My 4x4 mom’s taxi is another favourite, the ultimate Toyota. He smiles when the going gets tough
