To add to MadnohB's picture of the LT-Action, here are a few pics of what can be done on a R1200GS - If you know what you are doing.

I post these with the permission of the photographer, Colyn Serfontein, he took the pics in Sabie, and according to him the guy was placed 2nd in the Skills Challenge on the 2007GSC.

Rolling Eyes Does he think he'll reduce the tyre wear on one wheel...?
The rear tyre (and top-box)takes a real thump in the last photo...! Neutral
(That's how the top-box breaks, chaps)

that's how a lot of things brake Rolling Eyes

heard about a guy who picked up engine trouble as a result of long wheelies.........all the oil in the back and the engine ran dry.

can understand a wheelie even when it's not part of a stunt show, but what kick is to be found in a stoppie?.......never tried it myself, so I'm asking.........or is it simply a case of one more thing my bike can do?

good skills though Wink

affraid

I wonder how his rear suspension is doing ????

Apparently, (and I am NO expert) the drive-shaft gets alot of damage with wheelies, that is why the KTM's wheelie soo much, they have chains, and not because they are "wind-gat" lol!

I must say that is quite impressive. I have done a stoppie before but not on my GS. It was accidental but still, it was fun.

The GS is a bit of a wheelie monster and you really have to try to keep that front wheel down under hard acceleration. I promised my wife no more wheelies and I think the front suspension on my GS is really happy about that.

That rider has some serious skills and it is always nice to see what a bike is capable of. Even though looking at that last pic, not something I would like to try on my GS.

His back wheel seems flat in the last picture. Once again - if you can do it you can.
Personally - i dont think any bike has been designed to do this and it must hammer the clutch assembly - even on the chain driven bikes.
What it does to the drive shaft i dont want to know.

I do not think this is Jan Staal in the video link, Jan always wears full BMW kit.

But I am not sure.
