Re: LT action......
Saw a similar photo on another forum. Should be hung, drawn and quartered and his license rewoked for time immemorial.
Dont mind scraping the footpegs - but this imo is ??????????? up the bike. But thanks for the nice pic Jamie - seems he was doing a few burnrouts and doughnuts as well.

Re: LT action......
Well these fellows just show you what your bike can do, not what you should be doing.
I am sure after the show, that LT needed some TLC from a dealer.
Still, that is some serious skill.

Re: LT action......
methinks it's über cool.......to wheelie a bike that supposedly can not be wheelied as part of a stunt show. Just show what skill this guy has, btw he is the same guy that did the motorcycle stunts on the R1200C in the 007 feature "Tomorrow never dies"

Re: LT action......
I think he packed them full of lead bars Not the most elegant position for a LT to be in but quite impressiveSharkie wrote:Wonder how many bricks he packed into those panniers !!!!!

Re: LT action......
Seriously speaking - I still dont know how he got the LT to wheely - knowing the clutch and pull-away dinamics of the LT.

It's all in the throttle, clutch and balance, LeRoy...
You'll just have to practice, practice, practice....

Re: LT action......
oh it's for real ok.
the reason.....purely for entertainment value….. and because he can.
BMW will typically pay a stunt man to entertain their customers and…. to let him do it on a beast like the LT, attracts even more attention simply because the bike supposedly can not be wheelied nor was it ever designed for that.
If you were at the last ABBG, you would have noticed how many "conservative" BM riders attended....and enjoyed the stunt show.....I know I surely enjoyed it. Again the question can be asked why.......
well, for one I really admired the man's skills........and wondered to myself.......how many falls did it take for him to became that good

Re: LT action......
He is probably the same guy that wheelied a Gold wing and a Harley Electra guide. Both massive machines not designed for wheeling. Must say I cannot understand why people want to wheelie a motorcycle. I like to keep both my wheels on the ground.

Re: LT action......
The question is to Wheelie or not to Wheelie - personally - i never liked doing it - even in the days i rode the Bol d Orr (Honda 900F). I am of the opinion that the bike has been designed to have both wheels on the ground. Much safer.
But one must admit - you need the skills and knowledge to this - especially if you wheelie these ultra large bikes. Some people just have the knack and ability to make this seem effortless and easy. I tip my hat to them.

I did a wheelie once on a Yamaha IT250 when the power band just kicked in suddenly.
I didn't wipe out, but it was a close call...
Guys who can wheelie bikes really well are artists in balance, grace and moment.
It brings out the wishful wild side in all of us...and makes us make excuses why we can't/won't/never will be doing it either.
(What's mine? I'm just too old, too broke, too brittle and too 'bang' to learn now...!)
