Went to Kaapsche hoop with the Triumph RAT club and it is awesome. Also stayed at Berlyn Peacock Tavern years ago and that is also wonderful.

Alun, have no idea how many are going on the trip, but closer to the deadline people seem to make final arrangements to book. I should know a week before 21 Noverber what the numbers will be. Working on the camping sites for you.

Re: December weekend to Graskop/Sabie
Berlyn Peacork Tavern called today regarding the camping. They will confirm about camping on their own grounds so the group can keep together, they need to know how many tents? Just need to work out the bathroom story.
We need to start booking NOW. Berlyn Peacork Tavern have kept a block booking for 20 people until 1st week November. BOOK NOW.

Re: December weekend to Graskop/Sabie
Well I be myself with one tent.
Do we need to wait for their decision before making a camping booking?
Sue, maybe start a name list here to see who is doing what, and you can edit as names are given.
Still nothing for the 13th for camping?

Re: December weekend to Graskop/Sabie
Sue,
Not sure the route you will be riding there or back.
This morning I drove to Nelspruit via Machadadorp and Schoemanskloof. What a beautiful area ! Wish I'd been on my bike ! The road is excellent. Not a single pothole in sight. They were even painting new road markings this afternoon when I drove back home. Only bad area is around Belfast towards turnoff to Carolina. Major roadworks there.Single lane traffic,no overtaking ( except for taxis - ofcourse) and a 60km/h speed limit. Should not affect our YEF at BADPLAAS as it is after that turnoff to Carolina towards Belfast.
The only drawback to that route is a very expensive Toll road ( R49),but beautiful scenery.

Alun, there is no camping sites in Kaapschehoop unfortunately. I will ask them if we are allowed to camp on the grounds. But I dont think so. Graskop has said yes to camping on their grounds.

Lets hope for the Kaapsehoop agreeing.
Just realized something. What do we pay for camping at Graskop?

Re: December weekend to Graskop/Sabie
That is the price listed for Graskop Holiday Resort, not camping at Berlyn Peacock Tavern. Berlyn Peacock Tavern does not have camping, but Sue managed to organize that 3 bikers can camp at Berlyn Peacock Tavern so to keep the group together. Thus no camping fee exists for Berlyn Peacock Tavern.
Now we hoping for the same at Silvermist Guest House.

Re: December weekend to Graskop/Sabie
Done the trip to Kaapsehoop and Graskop. It was awesome, the weather was not to good but made the best of it. Got good news, Silvermist advised that if there are last minute bookings they will make a plan in the village. Unfortunately no camping facilities at Kaapsehoop and Berlyn Peacork tavern only at the Graskop camping sites. Please book asap with Berlyn Peacork Tavern as accommodation is limited to 15 people and 8 have already confirmed. We are 10 in total with 2 campers. PLEASE BOOK, cut off date is 25 November.

Re: December weekend to Graskop/Sabie
Hello Alun, I would say +- 1200 at the most with all the riding. We have a backup vehicle in place Nick Sendall who is a club member. He will be taking his helmet etc with so that he can join as a pillion on the rides around the area. Putting in place the route etc. Will also e-mail who is all going to be on the trip.

Sue.
We will probably be "part time" members of the trip. We have family in Burgersfort and are looking at visiting them and joining in on the out ride and some of the day trips. Will be camping indoors .
