I'll make sure to commute on my scoot! (that sounds terrible!) - rephrase: I'll ride my bike that day - to Club night too?
Wish I could say that I ride my bike everyday, but between 'Mom's taxi', supermarket trips and the like, I'm glad I have my 4wheeler too... Tough to be a mom eh . .

Same - always commute with the bike - although i do support the principle that using the bike be emphasized and brought under the attention of the general public. Given all the traffic jams and the congestion on our roads using 2 wheeler transport is aobout the only logical solution.

I also prefer to use the bike every day. But......... I need to charge the bakkie's battery every now and then. AND .......... now, being the owner of 2 bikes, I'll have to flip a coin to make a decision which one to ride... How do you (Sharkie, Bear, etc.) make your decisions ????

Re: Commute on Your Scoot - 3 October 2008
the mood on the day determines the outcome.................
mmmh let me see.......
do I want to be realy fast today or
do I want to be realy, realy fast
and some smaller insignificant things……..blue helmet/red helmet, black and red boots/silver and black boots.
No serious…..in rainy weather it will always be the Beemer with the ABS. Other days it’s a toss-up split more or less 50/50
Love them both. Other than commuting.....it's a differeant story......then it's horses for courses

Re: Commute on Your Scoot - 3 October 2008
Well, for me it is easy,
Between me and my girlfiend, we have only one car. So she uses the car, and I use the bike. I travel alot further to work than her, and if it rains, I just wear my raincoat.
And when I get my bike serviced, I get a loan bike from Bavarian. My "other" bike is a off-road bike, so I cannot commute with it.

Re: Commute on Your Scoot - 3 October 2008
Son started using my car, since his was stolen a while ago - so I also don't have much of a choice to make. Rainsuit is always in the pannier - so the wheather does not bother - except if i have to travel between different buildings on the same day and i have to use the rainsuit and again store it for later use. Bit of a schlep then.

You know the saying: If a mom's place is in the kitchen, then why is she always in the car?BMW wrote:Tough to be a mom eh . .
I have the same problem with the car - if I just ride the bike, the Land Rover's battery will die on me.
Re: Commute on Your Scoot - 3 October 2008
To all those celebrating “Commute on Your Scoot” day today……have a fabulous day.
Although I regard everyday on two wheels as a privilege, let’s specifically enjoy today as part of this national drive. Commercial activities and other secondary drives have attached themselves to the day which is not necessarily bad but fundamentally today is all about us…..the 2 wheelers out there and the joys on offer by biking.
What better way to do our own small bit in support of this initiative than to adhere to admin’s request to pitch on our bikes for today’s Club social.
Four wheels move the body but TWO WHEELS MOVE THE SOUL
see ya on the road on 2

Is that Sole as in the fish or Soul as in the inner being?
Just funning with you Jamie. Had a good time at the breakfast and it was nice to see so many club members there as well.
