Admin wrote:I will start a survey soon: Let's call it a SURVEY OF FAULTS.
You can post problems/repairs experienced after 'n' kilometers, model specific, and what was the procedure/cost to rectify.
In time the survey can help every owner to know when to be on the look-out for possible problems, and to know what to expect of his bike.
Shall we exclude GS Challenge entrants to take part in this survey? . .
Think it would need to be a survey of 'non-self inflicted damage' ie reliability issues only - especially with low km problems that should not really occur at that type of distance.

Re: The Badplaas - Malaga crowd
Think it might be somewhat of an eye opener……???
I for one would not want to harm the brand but I personally think, the (good) perception of the current generation Beemers with reference to reliability, is not necessarily based on how they deliver………….methinks the good solid Beemers of yesteryear were the opinion formers……..?
But let’s not jump the gun………..honesty will be a key element though….. if one is not going to be completely accurate, rather be a reader of the topic instead of a participant (read do not post the problems at all)

Re: The Badplaas - Malaga crowd
I got my RT in Feb 2006 and within a week I was contacted to inform me that they recall it for a clutch problem and I should not use the bike at all. They fetched it and replaced the "inferior quality" part that was used in this model. However, since then I had not a single problem (touch wood)
My 2004 R1100S had a problem with the brake servo warning light which they fixed during the next service, for the rest it has not given me any problem till this day

ESA gets stuck - sometimes with one person setting and sometimes on 2 people setting. Lennie has received the parts and then I will be up and running again!MadnohB wrote:what's wrong?
