Roads is a very ineffective way of solving traffic issues. Considering that there is only 1 person in many cars you really have to build an incredible traffic infrastrucutre to handle the growth of housing complexes and office blocks.

The alternative is to build a proper public transport infrastructure going into the different housing areas to the commercial areas. This should also limit the moms and dads taking their children to school and back.

Another option is to build complexes and office blocks in the same area ike they are currently doing in Midrand.

But in order for public transport to work, we first need to get crime out of our country and that is not possible while the governmnet is pocketing 14% (VAT) of all goods that are replaced due to theft, robbery, hijackings etc. They even get 14% of the hospital bill should somebody be injured and 14% of the funeral fees.

All in all I think more and more people will take to biking - it is the most pleasurable thing to do! cheers
