Naming a Bike
Hi Mates
A question to all!
I see a lot on the road that the campers like to name their Caravans. Stuff like "Uit en Tuis", "lekker Rus" etc.
What do you call your ride?
Still thinking of a name for my RT. The work people used to call my yellow 650GS "Perdeby".
Regards
Rudi

Re: Naming a Bike
I don't think I fall in the category of rider that gives his bike a name. If I have to how about:
1) Lekker Gly (in die wind)
2) Motorised Gatsaag
3) Windy
4) Bugcatcher
5) Bummer
6) Potty (for the BMW boxers out there)
Any other suggestions

Re: Naming a Bike
A thing I got from Corlia is to use your registration number to name your car. For instance, my car was CMT so I called it Comet. My bike is WLZ so I call it “Wheelz”! Not my first pick though, but at least it helps with remembering your registration number when you need it…

Re: Naming a Bike
Personally speaking - certain things must not be named - cars and bikes being at the top of that list. Wont mention my perception of that here for fear of stepping on toes. Tend to agree with Jamie's name of his bike - that it surely is. (before or after you bought it)

Re: Naming a Bike
Personally I don't like calling a BMW any name. I stumbled on another biker forum with a thread on this topic and it seems as if they have nicknames for most bikes, except BMWs. Remember the days when a Kawasaki was a Kwacker, a Ducati a Duke, a Norton Dominator a Detonator and the Kawasaki Mach III the Widowmaker and then we will not talk about all the nicknames for HarleysRudivv wrote:Andre

Re: Naming a Bike
So, Is a bike a "she","he" or "it"???
If its a he or a she, deep in your hear it will have a name.!
Just my personal feeling.

My R1100S plate is RGF...So I'll call it "Regte Groot Fiets" or "Real Good Fun" and my little TW is MSZ, so I think "My Sweet Zinger" I though of "Men Size" but it isn't really Maybe "Mouse Size"
