R1200S ???
I am the owner of a R1200GS and a R1200S --- I see a lot of write-ups of GS's but no one ever writes about the "S" --- is the "S" A unpopular bike or are the owners just the "shy types"????

Re: R1200S ???
Welcome to the forum Scoop
On the contrary, the R1200S is a beauty.
However, this is GS valley………en laat en d#nn*er net waag om iets oor ‘n ander bike te sê……..
Nah, of course I’m just joking. There is just 7 (or is it 17) GS’s for any 1 other model, thus a lot more GS talking. But me, I’m not scared, I talk about my bike a lot……..whether they want to listen or not.
This might spark a reply from another “S” rider who incidently also owns a GSA/S combo but who’s name (at the moment) escapes me now

Re: R1200S ???
i saw the new K1300s the other day at a BMW dealer ship. i assumed for a beast like that there should be a waiting list from here to in cape town. but the sales exec told me that, BMW is better known for its adventure bikes, and not really for sport bikes. What?! no waiting list for a 1300s? at long last BMW is fighting back with the Jap pocket rockets, and people still wants a stofdonkie?

Re: R1200S ???
Tend to agree - it is a pity that the road bikes dont get the same type of coverage or reference as do the GS range of models. The R1200S and the R1200ST, both excellent bikes just dont get the attention they deserve.
The ST even having been discontinued after a very short model range. BMW should market these models more and not place all their emphasis on the adventure bikes.
