R1200S Ride...
Hi all,
I bought myself a 2nd hand R1200S last year.
It has a van der linde slip-on, which sounds good, but I'm too old for this... Hence I want to sell or swop it for a standard unit.
I find that the bike does not pull very well below 4500 rpm, but then rapidly picks up and after 5000 rpm, it is like a bat out of hell.
Is it normal behaviour for this machine, i.e. 90kW compared to a std GS? Or could this be as a result of the slip-on?
I have had it back to BMW and replacement parts included 4 new spark plugs, 4 coils and a lambda sensor on the right hand side.
I have no benchmark to compare it to, and also do not know anyone else that rides one in my circle of friends and family.
Your feedback will be highly appreciated.
thx,

Re: R1200S Ride...
Hi Jacop,
I only have experience with the GS and not the S and also not with the vdLinde zorst. I'm sure someone with an "S" will be in a better position to answer you about the rpm issue.
Do you know if BMW did the diagnostics and software checks? Normally that should show if anything is wrong. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that is how they picked up that the lambda sensor was broken...
So where are you guys with the "S" bikes?? Hmmmm?
