Crazy Superbike Riders !!!
Drove to work this morning on the N3 and two superbikes in quite dense traffic came hurtling past at break neck speeds, one on the left and one on the right WTF !!!
Do these guys have a death wish, they appeared to be racing each other in the traffic, lane splitting
We all do stupid things, but that is just crazy...

Re: Crazy Superbike Riders !!!
Had the same experience the other day but sadly it was a.................GS rider. This idiot also passed me on the left. I was not blocking his path, he came from the far left hand lane weaving through the traffic like a man pocessed. Went after him, he tried to outran me........siestog shame.......then tried out my best sign language. Sincerely hope he got the message as he is a danger to himself and all other road users.
And if you perhaps read this (N1 North just before the Krugersdorp/Polekwane offramp)..........MY FRIEND, LESSON 1 PAGE 1, NEVER EVER PASS A BIKE ON THE LEFT IN THE SAME LANE (for that matter any other vehicle). Other road users simply don't expect you on the left

Re: Crazy Superbike Riders !!!
Seen this myself a number of times - then one can understand why the public at large regard Motorcycles and the riders as dangerous, hooligans. Pity the Beemer fraternity is then seen as part of it. I dont have a problem with weaving in traffic, and if the traffic conditions allows it a bit of high speed weaving can be both relatively safe and exiting, but then stay in the parameters of what the traffic allows and what you can do. Re: Crazy Superbike Riders !!!
I try, as a BMW rider to be polite and courteous; I tend to regard the BMW riders as the upper class of bike riders, maybe just my perception, I have been with BMW for 22 years this year and only associate the best with BMW and it is for this reason that I try to keep us a good name.
I think we all know our limits and when it is ok to do the high speed weaving.

Re: Crazy Superbike Riders !!!
Saw something similar the other day. A person on a GS hit a car's mirror but did not apologize. As the traffic stopped, the car went closer to tell this person to behave a little more politely. Another person on a GS saw this and started bashing on the car with his fists.
It is not just superbikes that have this attidue problem, we have it in our midst as well. Maybe they should give a person an attitude and IQ test before allowing them to buy a Beamer

Re: Crazy Superbike Riders !!!
Me certainly thinks so! The only reason I made this suggestion is that I already have my GT and will hopefully not be tested again.
Re: Crazy Superbike Riders !!!
Tend to agree - biking does not place you above or outside common decency. I habitually travel the basic same routes on a weekly basis and would openly thank any cage driver that opens up and allows me through.
Resulting therein that even those that at the beginning closed the gaps on me are now opening up and allowing me through. The mirror slapping idiots are confirming the general publics perspective of Bikers - namely that we are a bunch of unruly hooligans.

Re: Crazy Superbike Riders !!!
Some people ride the way the do because they feel it's their bikes and it's their lives and rightly so. I think it is the responsibility of every biker to decide what is right and what is wrong. Each to his/her own I always say. Only problem I have with this is when the lives of other people are affected by your stupid behaviour. We have lost too many lives because of stupid riders and drivers. Some motorists have purchased their licenses, so they do not even know when they are endangering others lives by the way they drive.

Re: Crazy Superbike Riders !!!
This is a very day occurrence, the general frame of mind for these riders appears to be ….if you can read my number plate you are coming second or if in doubt gear down and pass the traffic on one wheel before uttering those last immortal words…..”OH SHI….”

Re: Crazy Superbike Riders !!!
Moral of the story is an old one - Ride to live and live to ride. I think that at one stage or the other most everyone was there - reckless. Now I want to see my children grow up and if I am that fortunate, my grandchildren. I say let them be.....they'll learn.

I Actually thought that I should have added that. Jip, couldn't agree with you more. The problem is that they are ignorant of that fact. We are by and large preaching to the converted you know.......

If a car swerves in front of an American. he says: "O Crap!"
If a car swerves in front of an Englishman, he says: "O dear!"
If a car swerves in front of a South African, he says: "Hold my beer and check this move!"
