Superbike Sunday III: 20 September

The annual international K-Run, (it was called Superbike Sunday in 2008), will take place on the 3rd Sunday in September: 20 September
This is mostly for BMW 'K' and 'S' owners.

The Gauteng riders usually use Lifestyle in Midrand for departure. There will be a fast group and a slower group.

Will keep you updated when I get more information.

Hi all, I have arranged the K Run for the last 2 years and was asked to do this years' again. As mentioned it will be on the 20th September, our end venue must still be determined although there are a few ideas. I will post more detail soon. It is also advertised on the BMW Motorrad website.

The S A Run had a world record attendance for the last two years and we plan to do the same this year. The idea is to open this for ALL bikes although the K's will be the main attraction. BMW SA already indicated their support for this event which incidently is on the same date as the ECO 1000. Watch this space for more info.

Excellent = please keep us posted. If opening for all bikes - might get the numbers - but will this not defeat the object. Mean to say the GS guys have the GS Challenge?????

Last year we 'opened' for all bikes to attend, we had 48 bikes in total of which 37 were K bikes. Maybe we can have some guys to 'convert' to K's.

Hi Biza, two questions:
You first said all bikes are welcome, “maybe we can have some guys to ‘convert’ to K’s. (Here the implicit meaning is that all BMW’s are welcome, and they might be converted to K-owners one day).
Later you’ve said “invite your friends, we can convert them into buying BM’s”. (Here the implicit meaning is that all bikes (Harley’s, Suzuki’s, etc. included) are welcome, and they can be converted to be BMW-owners one day).

QUESTION ONE
Taking everything together, and reading between the lines, I guess any bike, except BMW GS’s, may join (because GS’s have their own thing then....the ECO 1000). Is that correct?

QUESTION TWO
If you are our K-man, why do you use an R-engine as avatar? Can’t I rather have it (the avatar)??

JCM - All bikes are welcome, the feeling is to open it for all bikes, GS's are also MOST welcome, even the R1000SS is welcome, although the K's will be the 'main attraction'. The GS's owners not going to the ECO 1000 may join our ride with pleasure.

I recently bought a GS Adventure - that is why I now have a 'boxer' avatar . . . . . . . . but also still a 'K man'

Lets not let all class and style go to the wind - cant we exclude the noisy HD from this invite - most of them are still using their training wheels???

Hopefully we can be a good example to them and 'convince' them to take the training wheels off.

Hoping - not possible. If they take it off they will fall over.

Would like to join - al depending on Elsabe - recovering from Radiation Therapy - 31 sessions over 6 week period. Wil confirm closer to the date - have diarised it.

The idea today was for all K bike owners worldwide to organise locally and to partake in a global breakfast run/rally
I'm willing to stick my neck out to say I think South Africa might have been the location with the biggest numbers.....by a long shot

I am not going to ask about the assumed sedate riding there and back...

Every group has its slower and faster riders and this one was no exception................some never got over 200..........
